Question about the "Services" Forum (in General)

Ok, I'm thinking about starting up a thread offering my services to make CB themes for people like I did in CB1... and possibly a little artwork for CB$ as well. Character portraits and the like. What I want to know is if this would go in the services thread, since it is a service I am offering to others? I've asked Slayer already and he kind of gave me a "depends on who you ask" kind of answer, so I thought this would be a good way to find out if there's any interest in this, and where I would post my thread when and if I open up shop.

So tell me what you think, do people want personalized CB themes anymore? And character portraits? I'll provide a few examples, so that people don't think I'm super good or anything when they're answering. =P

Black N White Pieces (shaded, of course)

Colored Pieces (this one is flat color)

This is all still very much up in the air, depending on where I can or cannot post my thread about it, CBers' interest, and the difficulty of the pieces I get commissioned to do. But this is a good way to find out whether or not its worth putting work into. So what do you think?

I would assume your best bet is in FS/WTB since you are "selling" a service... And this kind of service would be quite welcome here...

What about forgers? They're "selling" something too... but they get to put their stuff in services...

Personalized themes won't really be useful until the new theme engine has taken over the entire game, but this seems to be, all in all, a good idea. Seems like something that would work in services, even though things of this description don't fit the guidelines for the services forum. There hasn't really been any precedence shown...

There wasn't precedence for it in CB1 either, as I can recall. I think when I did themes in CB1 I had my thread posted in General... but I doubt that'd fly in CB2...

Technically it should probably go in FS/WTB but that would be difficult for you to manage as you're likely to need feedback on your "service" from more than just your specific customer. It would be hard to get this via CMs if you were using only the FS/WTB forum.

I don't mind if you put it in services.

I just want to be sure that 'most' of the admins don't mind me putting it in services... I don't want to get fined.

They tend not to step on each others' toes... From what I've seen, I would assume that if something is strongly disagreed with, they will voice opinion about the matter, and let Jon have the final ruling. One admin says go, and you're safe. Two do so, and you're set. ^_^

I think your art is very impressive....and once the theme engine is up and running, I'd certainly want a personalized CB theme.

I'm already thinking I'm interested in finding out if you could do a Portrait for Hejin...
