T25 suggestions or requests (in General)

Would you guys like to see anything specific, maybe a tournament similar to one from the past or a new suggestion?

Whatever you do, giving multiple points for various achievements is pure golden genius! Keep that part. The rules, I will accommodate to, whatever they are :)

I agree in general with giving multiple points for various achievements, but would request the achievements not be so many as all of the attributes and statistics. That was just too many categories and shortening that list would make running the tourney easier. Perhaps a tourney with scoring focusing on MPR and each 10k of MPR gets you one ticket to the raffle. That way many people would be eligible and we wouldn't have to have a mad dash for retraining in the final minutes.

Thanks for the tourneys either way.

There hasn't been a team one in a while...

:)

+1, but I would like to see more emphasis put into actual participation... I managed 5 points last tourney and only played a day and a half worth of BA with it...

As for "acheivements", how about adding win ratio, wins and BA used (less is better) as three possible extra acheivements ?
Also, I can only assume tournament chars get auto-retired permanently shortly after the tournament ends, BUT at least get the full current NUBonus (both XP and CB$, not just XP) even if the char is an older NUB or out of NUB completely ?

How about rising the BA allowance a bit, and making it longer ?
Say, tournament allows up to 20k BA to be used, and lasts an entire month (x10 BA used, x4 length) ?
Of course, prizes would be scaled up accordingly, say about 7 times higher (total) as they are right now ?

As for prize distribution, how about a set of prizes for some set goals (score, PR, MPR) for the top 3 (or top 5, or top 10), another set of prizes using the "raffle ticket" system, and also a final set of (purely monetary rewards for "passing certain tresholds" ?

Just throwing a few ideas in here, don't hit me :p

Heck, or what about something else entirely ?
You get NO bonuses at all on the tournament character, HOWEVER you do not use up your "normal" BA.

Instead, you get a completely separate "tournament BA" counter, that feeds, say 200 T-BA every 2 hours, up to 2000 T-BA stored maximum (20 hours), and not higher than the 20k total (so, you only need to fight 10 out of 30 days to fully use up all your T-BA possible allowance) ?

I'm having trouble understanding this question - perhaps I'm reading it wrong, but could you re-phrase it a little bit for me?

TheHatchetman January 9 2008 8:32 PM EST

Tourney chars don't get a NUB, they have a tournament bonus. NUB is not applied to touneys.

You don't spend your BA on tournaments, a seperate pool of BA is there for that.

As far as the "less is better" aspect of BA spent, that would definitely require a threshold in itself... Participation is key, we don't want to hand a prize to someone just because they took the time to create a char and fight 20 battles or so with it...

Prize distribution is per tourney. Each tournament will have different goals and different means of distributing different prizes...

Sickone January 9 2008 8:47 PM EST

Ah, thanks, Hatchetman, that definetely cleared up a lot.
But... if what you say is true, then why doesn't everybody participate in tournaments ?
I mean, free BA with some (unknown?) tournament bonus for usage and so on and so forth, who would say no to that (or, if yes... why?)

Hey Slayer:

I think the current tourney demonstrated that the money reward and ba is perfect. The best part of the last tourney is the fact that every bit of resources counted. I had to use every last one of my ba and all of my money contributed into winning the goal. (260k went to buying an elbow that allowed me to kill draco, 160k went to reinking and the rest helped me get points for the most money category). Whatever, you do, please keep the resources constrained. It stops tourney money from inflating the real economy and makes things more interesting. I'm without a clue in term of new tourney ideas though...

The bonus is known, and displayed with your challenge bonus in fights. As far as who says no and why, it's a time issue. They either can't, or don't want to spend the time playing the tournaments, especially if they don't see much of a possibility of winning...

I would gather that's why slayer introduced the threshold prizes...

There's no negatives what-so-ever to joining a tournament. You can only gain ^_^

I have an idea, I'm not sure if it's already been done before but I will suggest it anyways.

So here's how it goes: you take 10, 15, 25, whatever number you want players (highest PR, score, again whichever you decide). Each of them earns a "bid" in a /kick showdown. After the tournament ends, you arrange a date and time for all the "bid" winners to meet in a private room and /op all of them, count down, 3.. 2.. 1.. and they all /kick each other, last man standing wins.

Opinions?

I've got an idea... to go with the teams thing.

For the first part of the tournament... its all on all.... then to "spice things up" teams are made up in this fasion. You put them in 2-3 groups dependent on their MPR ... so the top person gets a 1.... the 2nd person gets placed to team 2.... the 3rd to team 3, then loops back... 4th to 3rd team 5th to 2nd team ... and 6th to first team
123,321,123,321,123,321 and so on till all teams are "full"

at that point you put them in 3 different clans, and have them fight it out.

You get points by being a top clan competitor...

the more "points" you get , determines your prize. A drawing of the random fashion... so the best clan person gets like 5 drawings... or whatever

eh? pretty good?!?

I would love to see a secret tourney, a tourney which does not give out the winning conditions or the rules.
At the end of the tourney you award points for each thing they got right, such as a win conditioning or high mpr or score.
Or subtract points for each condition they got wrong, like this spell used or that item used or the wrong tactic.

Or give clues for the winning conditions
