My Strat (in New players)

So I have decided on a single minion fireball mage.
I looked in the CB WIKI about all the info.
It told me that training 1/4 hp, 1/2 fb, and the rest in dm is a great idea.
It also said many people use a ToE or a FF on their minion.
I have two questions about this.
Is this a good combination of xp expenditure? Should I put more in FB for instance?
ToE or FF? and why? I managed to get a Lesser Fire Familiar and so I use that right now.

You really want to buy a regular familiar as soon as possible. It's very important since it will grow much faster than a lesser. It's pretty cheap, too.(About 100-250k, depending on who bought em first)

xp expenditure that youre doing is fine but i recommend ToE because it can get you to at least last until melee rounds. Personally, what id do on your char, is to train evasion so you can last ranged rounds without the ToE and get a FF. Plus, it never hurts to train Protection. :]

FF/SF would be a better option, the quick kill. You'd also do well training Evasion in there, this could be in place of DM, but doesn't have to be currently. Currently what you said, 1/4 DM, 1/2 FB and 1/2 DM means your DM would be equal to your FB. You'd want your DM to be equal to the minion's HP.

I agree with the above ^. You want your HP and DM to be the same. I used the single FB mage with Evasion as my skill, DM and HP equal, and FB twice that of HP/DM and it seemed to be quite effective.

As far as a ToE/FF, it's a bit up to you. A FF/SF (I would recommend SF not FF so you will get some balance and the best of both worlds in DD damage/effect) IS better if you want a quick kill. If using this strategy, get Junction and a HoC for the extra ranged attack. However, if you decide to use ToE, train evasion for sure. Using Evasion and a ToE can be a dangerous combo. Wiki can elaborate on that if you just read up on Endurance and Evasion a bit. Cheers mate, hope this helps ^.^
