CC 8826 "Neyo" decapitated The Pope of CB2 [224392]
CC 8826 "Neyo" draws strength from his weapon! [5446]
My VA i almost 100k and I only draw 5,4k out of a 224k hit :S
Seems like my 100k would be much better use if I just trained HP

When VA comes into it's own is when you're nearing the end of the fight and your HP is really low. Your opponent hits hard enough to kill. You hit your opponent and get enough VA HP to come back to life. VA has one many a fight in that way.
But with regard to the low VA draw: was that a killing blow you had just struck? You'll only get VA leech from the 'live' opponent. Once they're dead you can't suck the life from them......

And what I mean by that..just in case anybody is reading this who doesn't get it...
you may hit for 224392, but the opponent may have only had 15k HP for you to draw on. If the blow is a killing one VA won't draw on the part of the blow that is in excess of the live HP.

okay, so in fact its kinda sad that a One hit some opponents in Melee.
My char is an almost single tank, just got the enchanter today.
As I see it the VA is almost a waste of XP for me. Would be better used in HP and a Bigger AMF?

And More HP might help me to survieve all the way to Melee round. Cant take much more then a couple of 100k fireballs :(

I would stick with it, building it up accordingly as your char grows. It might not seem like much yet, but later on you really will notice the difference.

You might want to get a morg for the uncancellable VA. BoNE is not as good a weapon and have even worse resell value.

Yeah, what Ulord says ^. Morg is the weapon to have. The inbuilt and resistant to DM VA is priceless.

Yeah would love to get one, but don't think anyone wanna trade a morg for a Bone. (with same NW) :(
Before training or untraining an ability, it's generally a good idea to figure out what it does and how it works. I.e. read the "Ability descriptions" on the Train page, where it says this:
"Targets gain HP (even above their Max HP) from inflicting physical damage on opponents. VA has reduced effect when its level is low relative to the damage done."
It has reduced effect when its level is low relative to damage done.
You did 224k damage. You VA was "almost 100k". Almost 100k is considerably less than 224k, and you therefore didn't get much benefit. It's similar to GA in this way. DM is also effective against each in the same way: lowers the spell level, ideally to be low enough below the actual damage inflicted that the leech/backlash is negligible.

for a footnote, you want VA to be equal to your average blow. Training to your max blow is a waste of exp. Courtesy of Ranger.
