evasion question (in New players)

So I keep seeing all these threads about evasion.

Which made me think, "Should I train evasion"?

If I started to train it on my current minion would it help out right away? Or is there a certain point where it starts to get effective?

Evasion is GREAT. if you started training it now on your current team, it wouldn't make a huge difference right off the bat, but it will quickly get up to where it's doing extremely noticable things. It would help your team immensely against Archers, and other heavy ranged tanks, but it will hurt you against AMF and other mages, as you're spending XP away from your spell, and raising MPR that means nothing to opposing mage teams...

The advantage of Evasion is that it makes you survive a few extra ranged rounds very quickly.

Evasion starts being really effective when the effect reaches about 50 which is just before level 200K. So if you started training it now, it might take a while before it became really effective, but it would eventually pay off. Especially on a single minion strategy.

And please train a base Protection. That will help you right away with an instant 4% damage reduction against teams that do not train Dispel Magic.

and here i thought "train a base protection" was something we told newbs to prevent them from dumping too much XP into an ED that isn't helping them much/at all :P

The 4% is useful, especially considering the minute (my newt not 0:01) amount of XP required to get it... But I don't see it being a difference-maker in a low-level SFBM's fights :P
