An idea for new DD spells options (in General)

Currently, if you want to stop firing a weapon during ranged or melee rounds, you just remove it.

Wouldn't it be fun to be able to set a minion's or a familiar's DD spell so it fires only during ranged rounds and/or only during melee rounds?

Issue #1: Mages would be able to equip a weapon with MM.

Solution: Do not allow mages to use melee weapons. For spells that can fire during ranged, also disallow use of ranged weapons.

Issue #2: FB could be turned off during melee rounds, thus allowing mages to deal lots of damage during ranged combat and none during melee.

Solution: Not sure how to work around this one. Maybe keep the friendly fire going during first few rounds of melee to simulate some sort of cool down period.

Issue #1 is self-defeating, why should a Mage waste exp training ST/DX.

Issue #2 turning off FB in melee rounds could be achieved by some new item [Helm of Liquid Nitrogen? lol] which could remove friendly fire, but reduce FB effect on enemy or cause it to fire only once in 2,3 rounds, etc. There will then be the trade-off with the HoC removing one ranged round, but removing friendly fire.
