Minor BoM buff.... (in General)

I get the impression that the BoM is the red-headed stepchild in the power shield family and thought maybe it could use a nudge towards respectability..

So this is my thought:
Have each + on the BoM and 1 to your weapon PTH (in addition to the strength bonus)
Since the BoM can't be used with a ToA and had penalties for ranged users it isn't an automatic must use for tanks, just a nice option. And, with the high upgrade curve, I don't see any 'over-powered' issues.

Anyway.... I'll go douse myself with water so you can flame away...

A good idea that was proposed to buff the BoM was to allow UC minions to wear it without any skill or DX penalty.

Make it +2 and only available in melee! =D

But, either way, I like.

*smiles and goes to find where those two 3 mil mages of his went* Guess what!? The MgS finally has competition!!!!

this would actually make the BoM more effective than the ToA for adding plus for large weapons...

A more reasonable effect would some something along the lines of increasing the effect of STR on damage reduction.

Hey man, I'm all for my BoM giving me more PTH. *smiles*

Yeah, me too. Anything that makes the BoM worthwhile sounds awesome to me. I like this idea, and I like the idea of removing the UC penalty. I don't care which happens, or if both happen, or if something equivalently useful happens to it, but I think it definitely deserves a boost of some sort. Back in CB1, it was completely viable equipment. Why re-introduce it in CB2 for it to be virtually unused?

I don't want to wear a Mage Shield. That's not what I'm about.
I can't wear a tattoo if I want a realistic UC strategy.

I was under the impression that the reason Power Shields can't be worn with tattoos is that they're supposed to be comparatively effective if used the right way. The MgS is quite powerful, and is beneficial (at a sacrifice of spells) to many people. The BoM? It only gives a comparable benefit if I spend 4 mil upping it, name it, and train 5/6ths of my MPR into ST, so that the percentage boost is near what a ToA at 2/3 my MTL would grant.

Sounds fair if it's limited to melee

or maybe have each plus give 0.5 to PTH? So You need a +30 for 15 PTH. If It's going to be linear then +30 for a few mil is a bit excessive.
