in short, forging involve 6 steps
heat the weapon up
cast the "top" spell
cool it down until your RPM increase
heat again
cast bottom spell
cool until RPM increase
how much to heat up depends on which item. check wiki (help) for the times. (11,6) implies 11 minutes for the first heating, 6 for second heating in each cycle.
P.S. if you are a new player with NUB, you are much better off fighting.
