missing ba ~ non-anecdotal evidence (in General)

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] February 16 2008 11:22 AM EST

at 7:15 server time this morning i used some of my ba. since that time there has been 12 refreshes so far (as of 11:15 server time). i stoped with 60 ba remaining and am in the 6/20 refresh range. i should have the orginal 60 + 72 refreshed ba for a total of 132. as of 11:15 i only had 128 and was thus missing 4 ba.

please reserve this thread for actual hard evidence rather than the anecdotal "i think i should have more" type of evidence.

i plan on checking before xp bonus time to see how much i have lost and will post again if more than the 4 is missing at that point.

There are times when i get BA refresh of less than 10 (which I always should get because my highest character has very low PR).

It's documented in the FAQ, so there's no need for evidence, anecdotal or not.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] February 16 2008 12:24 PM EST

the faq seems to describe to me something that will happen if a refresh occurs before the allotted 20 minutes but then will correct itself at the assigned refresh times. many community members have also read it this way other than myself.

if the faq is in fact describing what we see here, perhaps it needs to be clarified then? instead of calling it a partial refresh it might be better to describe it as lost ba that you will never get back just to make sure we are talking about the same thing here.

As I've pointed out many times before, if you get less than the right amount on a 20-minute refresh, then you need to get MORE than the allotted amount in a 20-minute time frame for it to all even out. So far, this hasn't really occurred.

there was a thread a little while ago of the exact topic. As i stated in the other thread:

I noticed that if you're at your computer (not sure if using CB is needed) you seem to get the right amount of BA each refresh. But once you leave you're computer and go afk, the BA refresh goes whacky and is never correct when you return.

if it happens to everyone, then why bother :) You guys really need to take a break

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] February 16 2008 1:15 PM EST

i believe smallpau is correct as well. if that is the case then it is not happening to everyone, but even regardless of that without gathering data on it we don't really know if it is affecting everyone equally or not.

It just took an extra five minutes after refresh for me to get my BA.

Ulord[NK] February 16 2008 3:30 PM EST

simple test:

Get 10 players with same refresh rate. Set a start time and an end time. Fight every ba possible within that day. Each player will use ba as they usually do. (ie. fight 5 times a day, morning, before lunch, afternoon, 8pm, before bed or every 2 hours or whatever). Read battle log at the end of day and see how many fights are actually used. If the result is the same, then we know the system is at least equitable for all.

QBOddBird February 16 2008 5:57 PM EST

Lord Bob: Happens all the time. No big emergency in slightly delayed BA.

Lord Bob February 16 2008 7:02 PM EST

But a full five minutes is a record delay. You're right, it's not that big a deal. I reported it anyway, since it is noteworthy.

I've gone longer without a refresh, lol. Much longer... Yours might've even been caused by the server restart about an hour ago.

Lord Bob February 17 2008 12:44 AM EST

"Yours might've even been caused by the server restart ---about an hour ago---."

You do realize I posted several hours earlier, right?

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] February 17 2008 2:09 AM EST

No i didn't realize that because all it said was Feb 16 on the post, no time of post, lol.
