prizes (in General)

I was thinking about how to attract more people and keep them competitive. Now i know there are some contests where people give away there own stuff but how about if the game gave away stuff on regular basis. eg

prizes for highest forged nw for the month,
most battles fought for the month,
fastest growth of an ncb for the month,
fastest growth of an ncb for the month
etc

things that most people can achieve in a month, would increase participaton and activity. Prizes can range from free namings, cb$, free supportership and possibly even have us$ prizes or real world prizes, for year long achievements in the same areas as the monthly like most battles fought for the year or most mpr earnt by a character in a year, depending on how much money jonathon makes and is willing to part with :P

Also we have supportership items but i think milestone items should also be brought in and these are super rare items. These items could be a melding of two items to form one. These milestones i refer to is every 1 mil mpr u make. so a basic, mold at 1 mil and a better one at 2mil mpr, even better mold at 3 milmpr and so on. would get people to be active and work hard in order to get these special really rare items.

The molds could be simple things like for 1 mil mpr tulkas gaunlets crossed with elven gloves to produce an

Elven Gaunlet base ac of 4 and giving 1% per + to both st and dx and -1 % for dd spells, EO and ED spells

2mil mpr

Alatar's Gloves + Noldorin Spellcasters = Alatar's Spellcasters base AC 0 +1% to dd spells, Subtracts 1% from the effect of Antimagic Field per enchantment point cast on the wearer -1% to ST and DX, EO and ED spells

3mil mpr

helm of durin + helm of clearsight = Helm of Durinsight base AC 2 allows for an additional round of attacks in ranged and -1 % for dd spells, EO and ED spells


4mil mpr

Elven Hauberk + Trollskin Armor = Trollskin Hauberk base AC 22 Plus 1% resistance to DD for each point of enchantment, Each round, it regenerates up to 5% of the wearer minion's trained HP, capped at the original HP before things like Ablative Shield. -1% to ST, DX, DD spells, EO and ED spells

and if u get to 5mil mpr

Elven Boots + Displacement boots = Vanishing Boots base AC 5 Plus 1% to base DX and Skills for each Enchantment bonus, decreases effectiveness of enemy PTH (Plus-To-Hit) enchantment based on Enchantment (+) points added to the boots. -1% to EO and ED spells


These are my examples and ideas. Also each user can only receive 1 of each milestone item no matter how many of their characters hit that milestone, these items cannot be forged only blacksmithed (prices to be worked out), Milesone items would not be able to be sold only trasferred between characters of the recieving user, and they may not be rented out either.

U must also have the appropiate items to be selected for the molding process which can take place at anytime after the milestone has been reached and that character is still active.

I guess if the blacksmith prices=sum of the separate items, it will be ok. but because you can only get 1, how about give as a choice!!! so there is like 10 items, and we can choose which one we want? otherwise it becomes whatever until 1m, tank until 2m, mage until 3m etc because the item is so powerful!!

Also when forging, how about just add the NW of the 2 recipe item and give a overall item NW? (which determines + on the item and rounds down)

A choice would be okay but there is a limit to how many items can be molded therefore how many rares are availuable and the idea is to not give people the really good strong ones until they earn them like ranger that has played for so long. Plus there super power would be monitored and restricted by what the final blacksmithing costs will be hence the + u can afford and the final effect.

Milestone award is a good idea, but awards should be trophy items at best (like the cbT). The merged items you listed is ridiculously overpowered, and it takes away the concept of opportunity cost. That is to choose one strategy, foregoing another. To not having to make the choice limits gameplay and makes CB2 worse off, not to mention the items you listed are ridiculously out of balance.

It's probably not a good time to bring in new concepts into the game right now. The game dynamics needs fixing as is.

fair enough like i said the items were ideas only they can be altered, or changed completely i was mainly putting forward the idea of milestone awards
