So, I'm running a Single Minon FB Mage. The question I have, is it more advantageous to train Evasion or Protection? Or should I skip both and just focus on my FB? Already trained Dispel. Any ideas, help would be appreciated.
Look at Hyrule_Castle or Little_Anthony's FB characters for a good template to follow... also look at Igot noname for another good FB strat

Here is the ratio I recommend:
50% fb, 25% hp, 25% dm.
After 150k mpr or so, train 40% fb, 20% hp, 20% dm, 20% evasion. Adjust slightly as you see fit.

base protection FTW. When you get higher up get a (20) protection.
Evasion is excellent, but only at higher levels. At lower levels it is a waste. You would do well to put a chunk into it when you hit 1M MPR.
What would be considered "Higher Levels"?

I recommend start adding evasion once you are at 150k to 200k mpr. it won't make a huge difference. You should be able to maintain 100% CB at such low mpr anyways. The goal is 1mil level evasion at 1.1mil mpr give or take. Then you can ease up on it for a while.
keeping your evasion roughly equal to your mpr is a good way of looking at it. if you use skill boosting gear that should be fine and if not keep it a bit higher.
having a base protection or a 20 effect protection never made a lick of a difference to my fightlist throughout my career as a mage. i have used the toe though and that may create an overkill situation. i never really tested without it at the very low levels (below 500k) so it could also help in that range more than later.
