can CB enable phpchat/ phpmychat? (in General)

Since rumours float around casting aspersions on all and sundry not privy to javachat; a little birdie squeaked, could it be possible to fit phpchat [or is it phpmychat?] into the CB2 schema?

There's this newbie CB-wannabe game in alpha-testing that's been advertised in the forum quite a bit nowadays, and i logged in once over there, and there was this phpchat thingy in all its glory; so the coding exists, and is reasonably simple as well. The only problem is, can CB-chat co-exist in both the javascript and php script modes, and also if there are any bandwidth issues on this.

Techies, please advice :)

I am asking for this option as lots of people have problems with installing java, so miss out on the chat; while the phpchat module seems to appear without any problems or requirements of installing stuff.

phpchat would be a huge step backwards. not interested.

Chuck, that's because phpchat is mostly server side, while java chat is mostly client side.

basically, my problem is that my win-XP install is from a "slipstreamed CD" meaning my OEM vendor OS has been upgraded with newer downloaded drivers, which causes a conflict with the java install. I guess I'll just have to wait a few more months until I downgrade my install to a Vista ;) when things will become all smooth with Java once again

[seriously, i had installed a trial Vista at first, but the win-xp install does things better and more comfortably, so i'm hanging on to it till i complete some project work]

What driver is so broken that is prevents java from installing?

Also, you can re-enable the Microsoft JVM if you can't get the Sun one to install... or use IBM's.. that's good, too.
