That's right, supposedly George Lucas plans to release 100 episodes spanning the time between the last/first episodes. Think it'll be any good?

depends, in what time its playing.
Before the movies period, during the movie period, after the movie period, or time lapses between the movies

"spanning the time between the last/first episodes"

movie lapse

Oh dear. Well, I certainly hope it's good :). Obviously I'm going to watch it in any case, but..

will it rival star trek and all those ancient sci-fi flicks? maybe the baby boomers will tune in, so watch out for all the pharma ads ;)

There is going to be an animated movie coming out in August I believe, followed up by an animated cartoon series. Both of those will center around the Clone Wars.

The live action show will be based between episodes III and IV and feature mostly new characters, with at least Boba Fett showing up.
