Alright, so right as of now my Fireball is at:

And according to the Wiki, the DD Fireball can do 5x its effect in damage. So that's what, 501k? I've not seen anything even close to this.

So CB community, I have a challenge for you! Simply fight me, leave your Play-by-Play on, and cause me to do as much damage to you as possible.

This does not mean you have to lose to me. Win, lose, draw, or stalemate, I could care less; it is what occurs -during- the battle that is of importance to me.

I am paying 5k per battle, up to 10 battles a person; up to 40 people may participate. This is profitable for most players; probably not for N*Bs, and you don't want to waste those battles anyways.

Yep, the most I've seen so far was in one of those battles, a total of 349k...a lot of damage, but far from 500k. Pretty sure you weren't reducing my damage by 30%.

Vs 1 minion, no AMF, AC of 2.
Note, you never survived past the 3rd round, so the 40% (or something like that) still effects your damage.
But you already knew that.

Crud! I forgot, and trained. Contest over. Mitt did the most damage, and had the highest potential damage (split between 2 minions, 188k FB * 2 = potential 376k damage.)

So I'm sending him 50k.

And I'm altering the Wiki to say that it is likely NOT correct.

I can't imagine the power of mages if the formula works as they say. I will gather as much data as I can in the next few days to measure the actual mean damage (accounting for the variance) of mm and fb. That kind of number is more reliable anyways...

It doesn't seem to work 'as they say', from what I've seen. Then again, maybe it's sheer bad luck.

Either way, with the MgS, TSA, EH, AMF, ToE, RoBF, etc. around, there's no danger of mages being too powerful...or rather, there's no excuse for not having a defense :)

Well with the randomness of DD and the 40% damage reduced in ranged anyways... it could easily reach 500k from that point.

(All DD spells fire once in a round, and suffer a penalty in ranged combat of 30%/20%/10% for rounds 1/2/3, respectively.) Is this sentence correct with 5 ranged rounds? (6 if you count the hoc) So no penalty for rounds 4/5/6?

So hows it now? 40% all the way or does the 40% go on top of this? on go down to 20% for round 1?
so 70/60/50/40/30/20 for rounds 6/5/4/3/2/1? or 70 to 30 for 5 to 1?

Except I took my best hits from melee combat. There was no 40%.
Additionally, this was clearly at the upper end of the randomness spectrum.
