new skill idea (in General)

Ok, this just floated into my brain, and since the space there is limited I had to let it out.
DD spells cast once per round right? How about a trainable skill (call it Master Mage) that allows for a chance at your spell casting ... TWICE per round. Similar to the multiple hits per round of high DX (and or PTH). I know, this could be much too much. I'm not much of a numbers thinker..." the math" makes my head hurt as some of you may recall, but the idea struck me as interesting. You could not only related the chance of a double hit to the skill level but also the resulting damage so it wouldn't be automatically a double hit of some massive damage just because of a huge spell level. Just a thought to share with my wonderful and supportive and non confrontational CB family.
:D

Now props to you for posting this. I'm surprised flaks are not flying yet. Very controversial idea of course, but it is balancable. For example, make it 2 hits of 60% damage linearly scaled blah blah 2 hits of 50% at based. Pro: you get 20% more damage. Con: you are more vulnerable to ToE and RoBF threshold reductions. The training cost has to be less than 20% of dd of course. Otherwise, we'll just go ahead and train DD.

Now whether this is desirable is another question entirely. I'm all for choices in mage skill though :)

I say uncapped. for every 80% of xp in master mage (MM for short), you get another hit of full power. and partial XP you get another hit of proportional power.

mage seekers would so own this skill
