i'm stuck (in General)

now i've got 1 problem i can't work out/decide upon.

EBs or DBs now i have and sod tank and an evasion CoC minion and i would like my fellow cb community to state which they believe i should use on each minion, at what level and why, personal exp would be great.

I've been running a variation on evasion-tank for quite some time with my various characters. DBs, I find are only useful when they're big and have never felt as effective when stacked with evasion - at least not as effective as EBs.

EBs after all raise the evasion level for a lot less money than building up DBs...and by doing so build up more defensive dex. This is, IMO, what makes evasion so much better than DB anti PTH.

That's for the mage anyway, who already has evasion. On your tank I might consider - depending on how you're building his dex - DBs. EBs would grant you extra dex, enabling you to train less, thus being able to move XP into other areas. But you could do that anyway - those are the choices we make after all.

So:

EBs for the evasion minion; DBs for the tank....so long as they're big boots!

i rent +140 and +129 boots but will not renew their rental so consider my problem knowing the dbs i will be using are +102 and my 2 ebs are +25. Thank you QBJohnnyWas for your experience and feel free anybody else to either contend or reaffirm QBJohnnyWas opinion/knowledge.

Actually, EBs on the tank are always worth considering; and two pairs of +25....I'll have them if you're not using them lol! ;)

I see DBs only really as a means of protecting your tank from tank attack if your mage doesn't divert the opponents for long enough; or if your opponent is using speciality xbows.

I completely agree with JW here... I have always felt experience is better served by using Evasion on mages and big DB on tanks... The only reason for that imho is Evasion has its own defensive dex... and most mage only train DD HP and evasion... while tanks usually don't have the experience to spread with Dex HP Str and maybe even some other EO or ED... But with that Dex already on the tank the DB serve well cause then it does have its own defensive dex from your own natural dex... but I digress... Exbow and Axbow are real trouble to tanks but it does not really matter as long as the tank is focused on that Tank instead of the Mage... You just need to make sure one of the damage dealers is left alive.

And yes I know those are my DB you are renting... my tank does nothing for me besides kill mages so I don't need DB under most circumstances... especially with my Robf killing almost everything.

I would like to put out there that I've always considered DBs more useful for teams with more minions. Because of the exp dilution in the team, a large evasion is much harder to get on your damage dealer. Granted, the DBs still must be large, but it would be quite difficult to get a large evasion on a 3-4 minion team.

On single or even dual minion teams, the evasion with EBs can surpass the DBs rather easily, and therefore are the way to go.

That's always been my take on it.

P.S. This only applies to teams where the minions were hired at the same time, or have nearly the same exp. Cases like Hubbel and FTW are obviously different.
