Trouble with combat. (in New players)

When I view my play by play, it doesnt show my characters using their melee or ranged weapons, just magic. I gave my archer and tank magic missile during the tutorial but I didnt think they would be limited to those attacks. I am advancing in power level fine enough but only hitting for like 2-5 with those characters (at least that is what it says). I have equipped my tank with a warhammer and my archer with a bow but they don't show up. Can anyone offer help?

Yea I didnt realize that fighters couldn't use offensive spells. Thanks =P
