xp/mpr strategy (in General)

SuperHD April 19 2008 5:50 PM EDT

ok i can defeat a character with Score / PR / MPR: 2,223,942 / 3,033,705 / 2,065,967

while i am Score / PR / MPR: 2,136,809 / 1,994,452 / 1,553,222
i know i could train the xp i gain but

my true question is : how much xp can i keep in bank before my VPR (virtual power rating) makes my reward go down ?

i mean i get this 10% challenge bonus against a char and i know if i continue training the xp i get this 10% challenge bonus will shortly get to 0%

what should i do?

Challenge bonus is based on VPR, IIRC.

So not training will only hurt you.

SuperHD April 19 2008 5:59 PM EDT

ok so not training is bad ok i got that

what mean : IIRC. ?

what is the best way to increase tat level training each fight? or training each 15 fight?

Tyriel [123456789] April 19 2008 6:08 PM EDT

IIRC means 'If I remember correctly'.

It doesn't matter when/how often you train, tattoos will still gain the same amount of levels. It's based on the XP you gain (the tattoo gains levels based on how much XP it would get if it was a minion), and nothing changes that (except challenge bonus, etc.). Training just updates its level, like you're training the tattoo.

Tattoos upgrade automatically as you gain exp.

"So not training will only hurt you."

I thought I proved that wrong once and for all...

That's what I was thinking too, NS.

Pretty sure you confirmed that if you haven't trained the XP, it doesn't increase the amount of PR added by an item with a given NW, so you can receive marginally higher challenge bonuses by not training (assuming you can still beat the same level opponents.)

AdminNightStrike April 19 2008 8:00 PM EDT

I suppose it's possible that things changed since I ran my NCB last year. But even so, you should only train when it's absolutely necessary because you can't find higher opponents to maintain your challenge bonus. Training just to train without purpose is dumb. Steady and calculated growth is important to ensure that you are always equipped to handle people in the various regions above you. Training just to train is the best way to make your stay in the proverbial dead zone as long as possible.

I guess that shows how much I know.
