new player question (in General)

I couldn't read the captcha pic 2x and I got kicked for 60 minutes, does this happen to alot of people? Maybe it's me but some of those words are hard to read in the cursive font..

Don't worry, it gets easier with practice. And it has to be kind of harder to read, since I expect that there are image recognition software.

No it really doesn't, just takes time, and make sure it is the top word only that you are copying down.

When I started playing, I couldn't read them very well, but once I got used to them, they came much easier. bartjan's botcheck trainer allows you to practice, and as you practice more, you'll find that you make less mistakes.

Nowadays, the only times that I make a mistake are the times that I type too fast and hit enter while the wrong thing is up there, and while the page is submitting, I realize my mistake and slow down on the second try.

This happens to most people when they start, you get used to it :)

At least two failed botchecks don't reset your character (like it did waay back 6 years ago before I joined)

canns, in your case the mistakes made were toil (where you answered foil) and dome (you answered done). Looks like you caught 2 very difficult botchecks in a row.

Earlier, you often answered completely different words. I assume those were not the top, but the bottom words. That doesn't work, as you probably have figured out by now ;)

recognizing the difference between t's and f's seems to help the process quite a bit. f's have tails that drop down below the rest of the letters while the t's do not.

also if you see the word 'elephant' look again - its not elephant :)

thanks for the info guys, I wont look for the bottom words any longer and yeah the 2 I missed were kinda tough :P
