Draining score from 6/20: good or bad thing? (in General)

Is it good or bad for the dead zone? Will it make it worse for those scrabbling their way towards the elusive 6/20 regen by draining the scores of those who fight them, or will it help them by providing them a new target which they can beat? Bear in mind that this is a giant score drain, not a trivial 2.5M score in 6/20.

Good thing, their score doesn't matter, so better to put it in the hands of those fighting negative bonuses...

But they fight people in 7/20, and as far as I can tell from my experience, when fighting a giant score disparity, it's a negative-sum situation.

The larger the score gap between two opponents, the less the loser loses and the less the winner gains (in terms of score).
