Reversing regen rates... (in General)

...would increase competitiveness.
<rent> >.< I think regen rates should reverse.
<rent> when you're smaller, you grow faster with 6/20 regen
<rent> and the bigger you get the harder it is, up to 10/20 regen
<{CB1}Slayer333> nah, thats kind of like penalizing people for having a good character
<rent> Right Slayer, instead of penalizing everyone below the top few players and making it harder for them to catch up
<{CB1}Slayer333> when you are that small missing a few BA isn't a big deal
<rent> It actually would be good for some who have more time to compete
<rent> In a N*B, that's untrue ;)
<{CB1}Slayer333> you are untrue!
<rent> you have a certain number of BA you can burn during that bonus, and every one you miss counts
<rent> Hehe, I know my suggestion is hateable since everyone like to get on once every 9 hours up there
<{CB1}Slayer333> yeah :p
<rent> but at least -everyone- wouldn't grow at exactly the same rate
<{CB1}Slayer333> lets just give everyone 5/20, I would like that :)
<rent> making competition only possible through RoE >.>
<rent> and then impossible if someone on top is using the RoE
* Hakai gives you both evil glares
Flame away, I'm pretty sure 90% of the CB population will hate this one.
Ugh, you really went through with it. I hate you both...lol
this is terrible for impatient people like me! /me cries

I actually like it! Problem is keeping the game interesting for new players at the low levels as they wouldn't get to play all that often.
I support this idea with 0% of my current awesome levels.
On to the real suggestion, 5/20!
Oh...I didn't read the entire chat recap...
It would seem OB left Slayer's argument out, lol. Whatever, I hate the 5/20 idea even more! :(

I don't hate it, but if we go with something that just makes growth for larger chars a bit harder, go with a rolling bonus type of thing.
I think it is a neat idea, at least a unique, perceptive one. If nothing else, it tries to recognize effort (something that really doesn't matter quite as much with lower BA rates and N*B). That's not a flame, but being able to burn BA used to truly be a defining part of the game. I'm not saying that was right, or better, or appropriate -- but it was the case. This idea is of that kith...

I'd say make the NUB last for 1 BA. If you win, you have the top char. If you lose... well tough luck.
Yeah, I think it is a good idea. Would allow for more competition up top which seems kinda stale to me. However, what Tezmac is true. It would be difficult to keep the new people entertained.

Aside from that it makes a lot of sense to me. I am still an avid supporter of bringing back x/10 rates so maybe that's why I like this idea.
When you are a small character, you need each BA to count less because you have a very unstable fight list. When you are a large character, your fight list changes rarely. Accordingly, each fight means much more (1 loss at 6BA = many losses at 10BA).
Going off on a slight tangent here, but..
The idea behind a faster/slower BA regen rate is the fact that you get a different base XP/$ rewards for each rate. From what I've seen, the reason why 6/20 is growing so much faster is <i>not</i> mostly because of the higher base rewards, but the fact that they aren't affected by negative challenge bonus.
Instead of changing the regen rates <i>and</i> the base rewards, why not just adjust base rewards like we've done with the N*B bonus? Many have agreed that after you hit ~800-900k MPR, your challenge bonus, and thus your growth, starts declining due to a successively lower challenge bonus. Why not just change the base rewards so that the time spent in 8/20 and 7/20 is not so massively long compared to 10/20 and 9/20? I'm seeing the effects of a lowered challenge bonus and not enough of an increase in base rewards to compensate.
Heck, one could even say that <b>making a 7/20 have a slight total advantage over 6/20</b> when burning all their BA would increase competitiveness. I don't think that 6/20 was meant to exclude others from joining because of the mechanics involved in it.
Anyway, I wouldn't mind the reversal. It would mean getting longer sleeps :D. And not missing as much BA.

I don't mind either, been waking up every 5 hours for the past month to get where I am. Don't mind to repeat that as long as I still play the game competitively.
But I would imagine everyone will get tired after some time, so it will help to hinder growth of top MPR, if they start to slack

That is a really great idea ActionAction!
It's very similar to an idea already proposed that was given the term 'rolling bonus' - and I think it would be a good thing
Also, good point NS. Guess this wouldn't be such a hot plan for the new players, eh? :)
