You know you're spending too much time n CB... (in Off-topic)

j'bob May 5 2008 10:40 AM EDT

when the car in front of you has a license plate that starts with ELS...
and you immediately wonder if he has an Elven Long Sword.

alright, who's next.
/me stares at Hakai. o.O

Hakai [Aye Phelta Thi] May 5 2008 10:52 AM EDT

lol! not sure if I can top that, j'bob!

Hm....you know you've been playing CB too long when you actually hear the names of people that enter the room when you see them join chat....

lame, but I was kinda put on the spot...and I really do hear them in my head...hehe

QBOddBird May 5 2008 10:55 AM EDT

Hakai smells funny

forktoad May 5 2008 11:00 AM EDT

when your house is burning & instead of putting out the fire you start thinking of AMF strategies to counter that fireball.

Hakai [Aye Phelta Thi] May 5 2008 11:02 AM EDT

Ok, so apparently my brain is still asleep. I forgot about the dream I was referring to in chat, so everyone suggested I share that. It was about TheHatchetman and Moltenwolf (GW).

Ok, so I have been trying to bid on GW's DBs since yesterday afternoon. The sale was to end at Cache, so I dragged my sleeping butt out of bed to make one final bid just before Cache. Both GW and Hatchy were on a bit before that, and I had chatted with each. So I made my bid, and went back to sleep. I dreamt that as soon as I left chat, Hatch CMed GW and made a bid for the DBs. The next morning, I "woke up" to find that GW had already sold the DBs to Hatch and did the xfers and everything. I found out that GW had not seen my bid that I woke up to make, and actually sold them to Hatch for 200k less than my bid. I was so mad and upset.

LoL, and that's why I need to stop buying stuffs on here, xD

TheHatchetman May 5 2008 11:04 AM EDT

Dreaming of me is perfectly normal... But this Displacement boot thing is quite odd...

Hakai [Aye Phelta Thi] May 5 2008 11:05 AM EDT

I really wanted them. Hehe

AdminG Beee May 5 2008 11:10 AM EDT

You know you're spending too much time on CB when you're talking with your mates and you inadvertently start a sentence whilst in general discussion with, "Slash me is...".

Or worse - when you realise you've been sober for more than two nights in a row because you haven't left the house.

TheHatchetman May 5 2008 11:15 AM EDT

G Beee, how about when you're wasted and on your way home, and you stop to think (cuz ya can't do two things at once in that state of mind) about how you can't wait to mess with chat, make a thread, and "drunk dial" a few peoples' CM boxes?

AdminG Beee May 5 2008 11:18 AM EDT

"drunk dialing" the CM box is the cheaper (and more sensible) option to the one I usually end up taking.

Trust me - transatlantic calls to you guys kill me at least 2 weekends out of every month...

TheHatchetman May 5 2008 11:22 AM EDT

You know you're spending too much time n CB...

when you have an eventful day out or even trip to the store, and on the way back to the house "there's no way they're gonna believe this... Oh well, I'll post it anyway"

when you call someone that you know in real life by their username more often than by their given name... (Who the hell is Harmony? Maybe Sundari knows... I should call her)

when ya have someone's phone number, but never call them. Partially because you have nothing to say, sue to having talked to them for hours every day, and partially because you forgot to catch their actual name... Imagine if the dude's wife answers, what do ya say? "Um hi... Is Ranger there?"

Angel of Death [Hell Blenders] May 5 2008 12:36 PM EDT

every time i see someone drink a whiskey i directly think of drunky (G_Beee)

QBOddBird May 5 2008 12:53 PM EDT

Definitely spending too much time on CB when I'm sitting here playing with my nephew and trying to get him to say "Uncle OB"

TheHatchetman May 5 2008 2:18 PM EDT

btw, I'm gonna demand royalties if I should ever see this on a standup special or a calendar or sum such... :P

drudge May 5 2008 2:30 PM EDT

ironically when you create forum posts like this in cb2 forums

Phrede May 5 2008 3:07 PM EDT

You know etc ...
... when you realise your G/F has left you, torn up all your clothes, and you just think 'ah good - more time for cb'

or

you are lying in bed at night, feel something moving against your pillow and realise its your index finger pressing the return key.

Phrede May 5 2008 3:09 PM EDT

or more realistically - you go through your Paypal expenditure over the last 3 or 4 years.

Lochnivar May 5 2008 3:17 PM EDT

The real sign of a CBing problem....

You cut short a date that is going really well because you have to go burn BA....
.... and that is the explanation you give to your date (and expect her to understand)

or,

When asked to list the people you've had meaningful conversations with in the past month you just realize it is nothing but screen names.... and OB and GW are in there with multiple entries (seriously, how many names do you boys go through?)

00 May 5 2008 3:19 PM EDT

When you hear mighty morphin power rangers and think of Ranger...

Colonel Custard [SeeD] May 5 2008 3:59 PM EDT

"You cut short a date that is going really well because you have to go burn BA....
.... and that is the explanation you give to your date (and expect her to understand)" Hahahahahahaha. I would almost do that. Almost.

Loch, that's a good one.

You know you're spending too much time n CB if you consider buying a top notch laptop, only to be able to play CB at work.
Insidentially, you know you're spending too much n CB when you can accurately (within 2 minutes) predict which of the more known players will log in...

Gunny Pew Pew [Red Permanent Assurance] May 5 2008 5:29 PM EDT

When you accidently say,"CM me kay" over the phone.
After associating changemonth with her time of the month.
When anyone named Monty has you second guessing what they say.
When you bring a pitchfork to a duck hunt.
When asking your fellow hunters' their WA, just the initials.
When playing other games, you're happy to have pants.
Wishing for PG! in a family restaurant.

TheHatchetman May 5 2008 5:35 PM EDT

"Insidentially, you know you're spending too much n CB when you can accurately (within 2 minutes) predict which of the more known players will log in..."

I'm not addicted... I can quit any time I want!

Gunny Pew Pew [Red Permanent Assurance] May 5 2008 5:45 PM EDT

When you put k at the end of numbers for RL issues.

<TheHatchetman> why is firefox using 128k memory?

AdminLamuness May 5 2008 6:47 PM EDT

You know you're spending too much time in CB when you make a thread about spending too much time in CB.

You also know you're spending too much time in CB when you actually take the time to respond to a thread about spending too much time in CB.

Hakai [Aye Phelta Thi] May 5 2008 6:52 PM EDT

You know you're spending too much time in CB if you know how long everyone lasted at this:

Take two...

hehe
