Wiki Change Proposals (in New players)

It was brought to my attention that if there is difficulty understanding wiki pages, that a thread should be posted about it, proposing specific changes. So if anybody has any change proposals to tack onto this, feel free to do so. I'm going to start with the most immediate one that I've noticed, and I'll add more as I come across them!


Endurance - http://www.carnageblender.com/wiki/Endurance

The biggest problem with this page comes from this block of text:

"Endurance is a unique way of reducing damage in that it can reduce damage received from Antimagic Field. In all cases, the reduction applied is limited to either 75% of the damage taken in any particular blow, or the level of Endurance itself, whichever is lesser. Because of this ceiling, it is possible to "break through" Endurance by delivering sizable blows that pass the aforementioned barriers."

Most players look up this ability to help understand how the ToE (Tattoo of Endurance) works. Having just come from that page, the idea of 50% damage reduction is most likely rolling through their head, when they suddenly read this page and get "75%" thrown at them, without referring back to the piece of gear that it comes from, and how they interract with one another.

Suggestion: Damage reduction from this ability can't be more than 75% of the damage done, OR 50% of the level of the enchantment (The level of your ToE, or Jigorokano Familiar), whichever is less. For example, if your ToE is level 500, it would reduce incoming damage by 250; however, if an attack is only 100 damage, then you can only reduce it by 75%, so you would take 25 damage, instead of 0.

By referring back to the ways you're able to receive the enchantment, re-citing their numbers, then giving an example of how the numbers interact with each other, it should make this particular page a lot easier to understand for those who are new to the game!

I like the added headings, breaking everything up and adding the examples helps a ton :)

The issue with these pages don't have to do with the descriptions, in and of themselves, being confusing. It's that understanding one of the pages means you have to be familiar with all the other terms associated with it. Which makes it very very difficult for a new player to understand what they're reading.

Suggestion: Maybe create a page with all these battle terms together, explaining how they interact with one another, explaining step-by-step how piece A connects to slot B. The pages written as they are look fine, for those who know how each stat works, but I'm thinking a separate "Leveling for beginners" page, outlining how everything works together.

Well, the game is fun, and any way I can improve on something that I already enjoy, I'm happy to do :D

the page about the score doesn't say much about the fight rewards. I am thinking maybe bold the sentence that tells you to fight 100% upwards for emphasis. Should I?

Go ahead. I was thinking maybe splitting the page into one page on Fight Rewards, and one page on Statistics; I'll do it when I have time again.

It's a wiki for a reason, if it needs to be changed you can do it yourself. If you don't know exactly make a thread about it, then summarise what's been discussed and put it in.

It was brought to my attention, that there are tattoos that are not marked as "Lesser" and have greater stats, or greater growth rate, or something of that nature. This should be integrated into the tattoo page!!

I do believe it is already stated.

"Lesser tattoos
Lesser tattoos are identical to regular tattoos in every aspect, except they gain levels at a much slower rate. Not all tattoos have lesser versions."

It is located at the bottom of the first section. Such tattoos have lower growth rate.

Maybe he means more prominently.
