The effect of PR on rewards (in General)

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 6 2008 2:03 AM EDT

Synge created a thread with detailed explanations of the effect of opponent PR on rewards. He explained it better then I ever could.
original thread

My goal here is to show with examples how much effect it has.

These caps are from Winner of Nothing an approximately 1 million pr char with a score high enough to give me a 100% challenge bonus. Photobucket

These caps are from Maximus the Merciful, a three million pr char who also gives me a 100% challenge bonus

I don't have time to do the math tonight... but here is some real world (heh the irony) data to work with... It looks like the bottom line is that I need a much larger sampling.

lets see with 100% 14.5% = 214.5%

1010 -> 214.5%
4.7086247086247086247086247086247 -> 1%
470.86247086247086247086247086247 -> 100%

vs

749 -> 214.5%
3.4918414918414918414918414918415 -> 1%
349.18414918414918414918414918415 -> 100%

3mill PR vs 1mill PR
470.86 vs 349.18

121.68/349.18 = 0.34847356664184661206254653760238
34.8474% increase in rewards

lost...100+14.5 = 114.5

1010: 1% = 8.8209, 100% = 882.0960

749: 1% = 6.5414, 100% = 654.1484

882.0960/654.1484 = 1.3484

Rewards are 34.84% higher in this example.
And yes, you need a much bigger sampling as this example isn't very dependable.

extra 100% is the base rewards... im pretty sure you have to add them

{cb1}Linguala June 6 2008 3:35 AM EDT

Challenge bonus 100% means that you get the base rewards in full, anything less is you get x % of base rewards...that's my understanding of CB.
But it seems it doesn't matter anyway as we both calculated the same result.

lostling June 6 2008 3:40 AM EDT

actually 100% = base rewards x 2 ... 0% can hardly mean 0% of base rewards :)

Quite, or I'd be losing money and exp with every fight.
