Money rewards reduced 5% (in Changelog)

AdminJonathan June 29 2008 7:47 PM EDT

You knew this was coming, didn't you, with ammunition now free.

VivaPinata June 29 2008 7:52 PM EDT

Noes! There goes my dreams of being wealthy and having stuff..

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] June 29 2008 7:53 PM EDT

:(

What about the folk who don't, didn't and never really used Ranged weapons?

Can't we just change the Heal cost for teams using Ranged weapons?

VivaPinata June 29 2008 7:56 PM EDT

Or perhaps allow ranged people to, say, pay a fee to temporarily to bonus damage with their bows for X number of attacks? Maybe could even increase the X number of attacks the bonus applies to or increase the bonus. Or maybe make it so that a ranged character cannot attack with their weapon unless they have this bonus..?

TheHatchetman June 29 2008 7:58 PM EDT

I knew I shoulda spent my BA before dinner! :P

Little Anthony June 29 2008 8:04 PM EDT

but i never used ammo :(

j'bob June 29 2008 8:12 PM EDT

How bout lowering the cost for BA? :D
It doesn't give anything to the NUB's (making all that money still) cause theres is free!
Boost for the vets!

King June 29 2008 8:13 PM EDT

this slightly increases the disparity between the money and exp gained in an ncb increasing the amount you need to hoard before running one...fun.

QBPit Spawn [Abyssal Specters] June 29 2008 9:36 PM EDT

In other news today, USD spending is up 5%.

TheHatchetman June 29 2008 10:29 PM EDT

"this slightly increases the disparity between the money and exp gained in an ncb increasing the amount you need to hoard before running one...fun."

Extending it by 2 months would also entail the bonus be dropped by 33%, which would entail dropping the BA cost... So I'm pretty sure buying BA for an NCB is still much much much easier now than it was two days ago.

Besides, even as it was before, it was possible to start with $100 CB, and make it to 6/20, even without a RoE... seeing as your earnings from battles during the week would ammount to more than enough to buy BA every XP time early on (first couple weeks), while allowing you to save a few hundred k extra. Later on (from week 3 to somewhere around week 12), your battle earnings will be barely enough to cover the buying of BA every XP time... then for the last few weeks ya got left, either stop buying BA during XP times (your challenge bonus is crap now anyway), or take out a small loan to get you by buying BA during XP time only until the end (you'd need less than 10m in that case, but this part isn't at all necessary for 6/20ness)...

Wizard'sFirstRule June 29 2008 10:45 PM EDT

is this change there to nerf me? I have 77m loan to repay.

INDColtsFan18 June 29 2008 10:52 PM EDT

Good Change. This will also increase the value of a CB$ and of course raise th value of everything in game slightly. There's way to much money floating around anyways.

TheHatchetman June 29 2008 11:04 PM EDT

"This will also increase the value of a CB$ and of course raise th value"

I find two errors here in this quote I snatched entirely from out of context:

1)you failed to capitalize;
This will also increase the value of a CB$ and of course raise TH value*

2) My value cannot go up. For I am priceless ^_^

Relic June 30 2008 1:12 AM EDT

With a reduction in rewards, should not we also have a reduction in BA cost? Especially for NCB?

INDColtsFan18 June 30 2008 1:13 AM EDT

NUBs should gain money for buying BA then.

iBananco [Blue Army] June 30 2008 1:15 AM EDT

BA cost is calibrated around the exp gain. In addition, the whole point of this was to create a virtual money sink, it would seem. It wouldn't do Jon any good to remove it by reducing other costs.

ResistanZ2 [The Knighthood] June 30 2008 1:19 AM EDT

Only by 5%? Wussiness, I say. You should make this game so hard that people FEAR it, like by reducing money by 95%.

Flamey June 30 2008 1:33 AM EDT

INDColtsFan18, 1:13 AM EDT
NUBs should gain money for buying BA then.

Considering its free, I daresay they do gain money for buying BA.

j'bob June 30 2008 1:40 AM EDT

"2) My value cannot go up. For I am priceless ^_^ "

12 pack of Dr. Pepper - $2.50 (on sale)
One pair of walking shoes to get you all over town in search of said soft drink - $70.00
Damage to someones car hood as you slam angry fists on it - $200.00

Being The Hatchetman...
PRICELESS.

Some things you can buy, for everything else... theres a hatchet.

Last Gasp June 30 2008 1:45 AM EDT

YAY!

This makes me happy. Don't ask me why though because due to the volume of my intake of legal behaviour modifying substances I might be experiencing this in a way that would otherwise be less than satisfying were I less "modified."

But I just felt that nobody was strongly supporting this so, hey, I might as well! :-)

Did I keep this thread suitably "PG" for everybody? Old farts like myself sometimes struggle with the whole "PG" thing ya know.

Brakke Bres [Ow man] June 30 2008 5:09 AM EDT

awww

Tchoob June 30 2008 5:31 AM EDT

Is it just me, or the effect is that we are currently experiencing constant +5% exp time? It may be just my exp rewards for fights rising due to whatever, but I'm sure they've gone up.

Tchoob June 30 2008 5:31 AM EDT

Forget the last post, didn't notice entering 8/20 BA :)

FailBoat[SG] [Forever Alone] June 30 2008 5:53 AM EDT

Is it possible to get a minor increase to XP gained? >.> Just a little one? Please?

QBJohnnywas June 30 2008 10:56 AM EDT

Lol, instead of reducing our cash rewards, upgrade costs of ranged weapons should have risen to take into account the ammo costs!

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 30 2008 10:58 AM EDT

AMEN!

Fix it better!

Brakke Bres [Ow man] June 30 2008 11:03 AM EDT

Yeah that is much better, now you're nerfing everybody instead of just the ranged users.

Lord Bob June 30 2008 11:06 AM EDT

Good change.

And a pox on those who think this should be more severe for ranged weapon users.

QBOddBird June 30 2008 12:38 PM EDT

At least it is only 5%.

But this should definitely be more severe for ranged weapon users.

;)

AdminNightStrike June 30 2008 12:54 PM EDT

"Yeah that is much better, now you're nerfing everybody instead of just the ranged users."

Look at it this way. You've been getting extra cash for a couple years now because you're saving on not having to buy ammo. So now you're back to getting normal cash instead of an inflated amount that was allocated for stuff you weren't buying anyway.

There's always another way to see things.

Dark Dreky June 30 2008 1:13 PM EDT

/me starts a slow clap for NS.

Very nicely put.

Brakke Bres [Ow man] June 30 2008 2:48 PM EDT

but I never had to buy ammo before, another mage nerf!

Lord Bob July 1 2008 7:23 PM EDT

"but I never had to buy ammo before, another mage nerf!"

Thankfully. It's about time your side took a hit.
