NCB - The cost of a "full run" (in General)

Suqataqus July 7 2008 12:23 PM EDT

I'm about 33% through my NUB right now (2 months on July 24th), and I was pleased up to this point (almost 1.5m MPR!). However, I have made some mistakes along the way, such as hiring minions a little early to get some diversity in my strat. I also made the "mistake" of going with a tank, though it's been fun thus far, I am starting to see evasion make my weapon never land a single hit on many teams.

So the question is, if I planned for an NCB the second my NUB ends, approximately how much CB2 does it take to run the full time frame, buying every BA every single day, assuming I use an RoE for almost the entire time. 30 million? 40? 50?

AdminG Beee July 7 2008 12:31 PM EDT

I'd estimate it's now most likely to be pretty close to $200m give or take.

Relic July 7 2008 12:33 PM EDT

If you plan on not buying any items, purchasing full BA, and hiring no additional minions. It will cost you about 100 mil.

Suqataqus July 7 2008 12:35 PM EDT

Is that 100 million before making it, or 100 including money made along the way? Also, does that include hiring extra minions at the end?

Suqataqus July 7 2008 12:36 PM EDT

Ah, nevermind, didn't see not hiring additional minions. First part (100m before starting) still applies though.

King July 7 2008 12:42 PM EDT

it depends on if you want to buy ba and if you plan on buying minions/what mpr you plan on hiring at later on.

At 8/20 it's currently over 800k a day if you want to buy ba.Hiring minions can cost you upwards of 20-30m each if you wait long enough

So assuming 800k/day for ba is average(which is probably a little low)
that would be 6*30*800k = 144m just for ba. hiring the minions can cost up to 90m and then the equips you want are added on top of that so i think Bees estimate of 200-300m is about accurate.

Suqataqus July 7 2008 12:51 PM EDT

800k a day...that's a lot more than I thought it would be. Looks like I'll be spending a few months after my NUB is up trying to save the money.

if you are ditching your char after NUB, might as well do forging now. With free BA of NUB, you should earn a lot.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] July 7 2008 1:26 PM EDT

you still have quite a bit of time on your nub and are at a pretty good mpr so far, why are you wanting to start an ncb exactly?

Suqataqus July 7 2008 1:27 PM EDT

I thought about that, ended up deciding to just make a new mage char now. I'll lose out on 5 weeks of my NUB, but it'll still get me pretty far and cheaply, and I'll have some experience with a mage for when I make one with an NCB later on.

Suqataqus July 7 2008 1:30 PM EDT

dudemus: Mostly because as it stands right now, my tank hasn't had much change at all to his fight list for the last 400k MPR. At 2m+ score, very few teams exist with less than 100+ evasion. My lowest XP minion has a 95 evasion with only EGs boosting it. I can't keep pumping money into a weapon to beat out evasion, especially later on when +'s are over a million each.

Usul [CHOAM] July 7 2008 1:33 PM EDT

You should use the remaining NUB to gather as much cash possible. Then start a normal char to have a feel of mage and continue gathering money. Then when you are ready, start the real NCB.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] July 7 2008 1:34 PM EDT

i would think you would be better off retraining than starting over though. you should be able to get a much higher mpr for cost ratio with that character than anything you can do later and more cheaply.

with the rewards cut, if you try to save money for an ncb run at non-nub rates, it will take much longer than a few months. just don't spend any more of your money during the rest of your nub until you decide what you will do would be my suggestion but get that team as high as you can as you might be able to sell it for a few million if you still want to do a ncb run.

even with free retraining gone, you will at the most lose 5% of your mpr if you retrain every stat on the team.

Suqataqus July 7 2008 1:38 PM EDT

What would you recommend for retraining on my team though? As it stands now it's 3 minions. Evasion in front, PL/Wall in back, and the tank/familiar in the center. Should I switch the tank to a mage, and re-ink the tattoo to an EF?

j'bob July 7 2008 1:38 PM EDT

+1 to Ryosuke. Don't go into your NCB blindly cause once you make one... that's it for 6 months. You can't just ditch him and make another. You may have some experience under your belt, but add some as a mage and then give it a go. Patients grasshopper. ;D

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] July 7 2008 1:40 PM EDT

i would recommend starting a new thread asking opinions on how to set up the best strategy for maximizing challenge bonus as that is what can help growth the most.

Suqataqus July 7 2008 1:42 PM EDT

Alright, thanks for the input. I think I've just been getting paranoid looking at the same people for so long on my list, paired with noticing my weakest minion is already about to pass up my SoD's +.

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] July 7 2008 1:51 PM EDT

What is your NUB %? You do realize you do have NUB until September 21 now?

Suqataqus July 7 2008 1:55 PM EDT

My NUB is 462%, and I do realize it has about 10 weeks remaining.
