Gloves of Mercy: A bit lacking? (in General)

ScY July 15 2008 2:18 PM EDT

The new item, Gloves of Mercy is, to be honest, a poor choice for any tank with an 'edged weapon.' Both EGs and Tulkas are MUCH better choices for any tank out there, and if your tank prefers to be amore of an archer (almost impossible with ENC) Belegs are by far necessary.

My question is this: since tanks have been so recently nerfed (Something I hope we *all* can agree on), why not supply a tank item that isnt completely useless--- Tanks using 'edged' weapons already have it tough, because the only viable weapon a focused tank should use is a morg? The change I am suggesting is giving the GoMs a broader upgrade curve-- this would help to balance evasion and tanks using edged weapons, and allow edged weapons to again become a bit more viable for a tank

Oh, and it might also help to get some demand for them: auction prices have been among the lowest I have ever seen for a *rare*

They are actually a "lesser rare" but I agree they do have an extremely limited use very few tanks can stand up to the mega evasion characters so the pth bonus might not be enough for them to be useful. Making them similar to HGs might aid their plight.

I believe they were and attempt to make weapons other than the Morg and BoTh a viable choice for a tank though, who wants to play vanilla blender where everyone uses the same equips for the same char?

Guess i should mention by similar to HGs i meant giving a stat plus their original bonus dex would probably be a better choice than str though for their intended purpose.

I guess no one else feels that the GoMs are kinda...bad...

I like the GoM, and plan to get mine (currently the biggest) upped by a couple more points before I use them in my next NCB ^_^

I think its kind of like saying Battle Axes are a bit lacking. Yeah, they are. They're also inexpensive. When you have the money, switch. Or you could rock some high NW GoM's and the fact that they're better than your average gloves would help you justify it.

I feel a +200 VB would justify large GoM... :P Though, I am all for a buff :D

It's for a new player who can't afford the pricey counter parts. They sell for under 50k so they can really help out a starting tank.

There is no counterpart to the GoM. It's good at what it does; it just only works for a select number of items.
