The trailer came out with the dark knight, looks pretty cool. Still not sure if i believe they can make it work though. Its done by the "visionary director of 300", well that will sell the movie!! The trailer, it looks like an odd mixture of sweetness and corniness to me. Like a part of me wishes something as surreal as this movie would come out, but the other part of me mourns at all the silliness that occurs. Stereotypical superhero story, dorky superhero outfit, and cheesy Nazis with flamethrowers? Then throw in a random S&M mistress, a few blue dudes, the American flag, and a civil war reenactment? O_o /me sighs

Do you even know anything about the original graphic novel? I think you should read about it a bit on wikipedia. Assuming the director holds true to the plot and theme that Alan Moore and David Gibbons had it will be quite the opposite of what you just wrote.

I cannot wait for this movie and I hope to god they do it right. Required reading for all comic fans. And it might even get you into them as well. :)

Yeah, I probably judged to hastily since I don't have the same admiration/knowledge of Watchmen as you seem to own. But with that said, movie adaptations that can portray the same emotion as their comic/book counterparts are, sadly, rare and far inbetween :(

I've never read or heard of Watchmen prior to this seeing this trailer, however, I tend to educate myself on things before speaking.

Wow. Thanks for pointing me in the direction of that. Certainly every scene they showed looked like they used the original novel as storyboard.

If it's as good as it looks it probably won't be as good as the original, but it will still be better than most other things. I'm looking forward to finding out.

I predict this will be even better than The Dark Knight.
