RoBF Magic Damage Reduction Bug (in General)

The bug in question being that my 3.8mil RoBF does not reduce magic damage (at least in tests vs EF, SG, CoC).

After a total of 30 casts (10 EF, 10 SG, 10 CoC) vs my lead minion:
Total Damage:
With RoBF 23,671,063
Without RoBF 24,008,880

A mind blowing 1.5% reduction (and let's face it, that's margin of error territory anyway)....

Versus the individual damage dealers it basically ranged from -5% to +5% difference

According to the change log I should be getting a pretty easy 15% to 20% reduction.

Me and my overpowered RoBF would like our damage reduction as advertised please.

And before anyone asks.... no AMF, identical equip (except the RoBF) on the minion in question.
Also all EF/SG results taken from fights VS Reda Luu (always in Melee 1 & Melee 2).
All CoC damage from fights vs Nocturnal Spagetti in the last round of range and Melee 1.

In both cases the same number of casts from each round were compared.

i do not really have the time to crunch the data atm, but here is some data from the same opponents (reda luu and nocturnal spaghetti) with and without my robf. i had to replace some minion names with fruit to get past the spell check without major formatting errors.

For the record dude... your RoBF isn't stopping any magic damage either it appears.

There was the bug where the RoBF appeared to be back to well-nigh unstoppable, then it was "fixed". Maybe it just got turned off on the damage reduction? Not sure, I guess I am just bumping here...

Get some more data points. Damage is too random to conclude anything with just one sample vs. another team.

Yes GW, but that those data all indicate the opposite of what JW is trying to prove.

I'm only saying what I'm seeing. I am wondering if HP is quietly acting as a damage reducer though. Dude does have a huge amount of HP....

But there is definitely reduction going on, when I'm capable of hitting on average of 2 million, and I'm hitting him for average of 75% of that.

Dude also has a MgS and 77 AC to go along with that RoBF.

So, if Dude can take off the mage shield....then I can do a proper test!!!


It'll be easier for me to test against single minions, cos I've loads on my fightlist all ToE and no AMF. I've a couple of RoE guys too, so Dude, CM later on if you read this to do some testing!

ok, following my slightly embarrassing miss of the mage shield this morning (hey it was before breakfast!) I've just hit Dude's char without mage shield and then without RBF too, and the battles go on long enough for me to see past 'randomness'.

I'm not going to bother posting numbers because basically they'll tell you what Loch describes in the OP. No more than 5% difference.

28% reduction in damage.

Seems to be just about right.
