forum channel for bugs (in General)

could we get a forum channel for bugs. a place where we wouldn't have to worry so much about bug notices being too far down the page and worry about whether we should bump them or not.

i would go even further and suggest that bug threads be closed then when they are resolved, either by a "fixed" or "fixed better" message or by a "working as intended."

it would give jon and ns one place to go check on things and then we wouldn't have to worry about if we are bothering them or if the chatmail we sent was missed.

i would add that a simple "we are looking into it" post in a bug thread would let us know that it is being investigated.

Not all bugs are under that category though, nov?

while that would definitely let the community know that it is being looked at and would handle part of my request, it still does not address how we make bugs known in the first place and notify the ones that matter.

Simply a way for admins to make things "sticky"? As long as they remember to unstick them once resolved? Would require database flag and query changes is all. Though, main page only shows four threads. One or two sticky threads and that space is about eaten up. Main page might have to go to 6-8 threads being displayed instead of four?

Just throwing out ideas...

Sorry, five items currently display on front page. If we had stickies, that would probably need to be upped to 8 or so...

i had thought of stickies in the past, but i think having a separate forum for it might be the best approach.

if this is implemented, i would like to see some of the old bug threads moved into that forum as well. it would make it easier when searching for these types of threads as well.
