thread request (in General)

can we please have like a edit function in like the pr and services threads so that instead of having a thread with a hundred posts we just have to edit one and leave the last updated time at the bottom of the posting

Why not just use the wiki?
Make a single forum post with a link to the wiki... the changes are tracked so I can't see it being a problem

Those are actually the forums most vulnerable to the abuse that is often cited as the main reason we don't have edits... Though the ability to edit a thread would be nice. Perhaps a log of previous edits would be a simple fix to the abuse issue, but then it becomes incredibly taxing on both space and admins... =/

It's been asked for many many times and the reply has always been the correct one.

No.

If you need to update or make changes you can simply make another post on the same thread.

This thread is closed to new posts. However, you are welcome to reference it from a new thread; link this with the html <a href="/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=002Vsu">thread request</a>
