is Hal that OP? (in General)

Wizard'sFirstRule September 4 2008 10:55 PM EDT

850k for a base Hal? even if it is for re-inking, its still very expensive.

Dark Dreky September 4 2008 11:06 PM EDT

Its only worth what someone will pay for it... and I must say, if someone is willing to pay 850k for a base tattoo that its a good sign it is in fact overpowered.

Or someone is looking to experiment with their strategy. Now THAT is priceless! =)

Sacredpeanut September 4 2008 11:09 PM EDT

That Hal will go for way more than 850k IMO, I'm thinking 2-3 Million

Cube September 4 2008 11:28 PM EDT

^ One can only hope.

QBOddBird September 4 2008 11:31 PM EDT

good god, that is just straight up retarded.

Then again, I expect no less.

Usul [CHOAM] September 4 2008 11:37 PM EDT

hmm.. you expected no less, and you say it's retarded. That means... you are retarded too? :D J/K

QBOddBird September 4 2008 11:38 PM EDT

Hm, there's a flaw in that logic somewhere ;)

Wizard'sFirstRule September 4 2008 11:53 PM EDT

dear God. I think we need some divine intervention to stop the OP of Hal and archers in general.

Sacredpeanut September 4 2008 11:59 PM EDT

I'm not a fan of the new tattoo artist system but if it's here to stay I fully expect the desirable tattoo types to go for several million.

I'm willing to go up to 1.5M on that Hal but I doubt that will even be close to enough.

To me, the tattoo artist change just makes experimentation that much more difficult. When you have 10+ people wanting to change a tattoo to a particular type but only one gets the opportunity to do so (the rest have to wait an indeterminate amount of time for another tattoo to spawn) it just doesn't seem right to me.

Wizard'sFirstRule September 5 2008 12:09 AM EDT

I think it is not too bad. It makes the lesser tats actually serve a purpose for the newer players.

just out of curiosity, can you re-ink a base tat with a 7m tat?

DrAcO5676 [The Knighthood III] September 5 2008 1:10 AM EDT

on accident... I'm sure you can... so make sure you put those tats in the right spots...

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 5 2008 1:26 AM EDT

Hal isn't the problem, a one handed, crippled, blind, greedy tattoo artist is.

DrAcO5676 [The Knighthood III] September 5 2008 1:29 AM EDT

this may also be a temporary thing to get rid of all these extra tats abound... then he may change it back... But I say we get a poll up and see who likes the change to the chat artist ^_^

Poll...Poll...Poll!

Brakke Bres [Ow man] September 5 2008 5:46 AM EDT

Jon did say there was a damage nerf coming, but 20% of 700k is still 560k, muah nothing special there.

QBOddBird September 5 2008 1:51 PM EDT

Actually, 20% of 700k is 140k.

;'D

Brakke Bres [Ow man] September 5 2008 2:21 PM EDT

O_-

Please don't spam posts with nonsense smilies... if you don't have anything constructive to say don't say anything at all.

But anyways... that hal is up to 950k now... but the only reason it is going for that much is due to the evasion change. With the hal using an elbow, and an elbow being able to hit 100% base chance with archery... it makes everyone want to try it and see if now they can add new people to their list by using it.

Hal overpowered... no... maybe a little off keel but it sure isn't overpowered... just makes people have to use more layers to combat the once a round hit... if not for my Toe AC and PL my evasion minion would be dead in two hits. Lets just wait and see what happens with the rest of changemonth before we decide to go calling Hal's overpowered.
