Chrome + CB (in General)

CB looks great in Chrome!

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 10 2008 10:46 PM EDT

speed was also pretty good...

AdminNightStrike September 10 2008 10:49 PM EDT

Speed is a great thing. For me, the only reason I still use IE at times is so that I can have certain pages in a separate process. Chrome just made the only useful aspect of IE disappear :)

INDColtsFan18 September 10 2008 10:50 PM EDT

I have never used it, but I don't feel there is a reason to. what are the perks over FF or IE?

Now if it were only cross-platform! Sorry, that's a deal-breaker. How hard is it to use a cross-platform C or C++ library?

I'm not expecting a OSX version for 2-3 months, at least.

/me's confused.

Patience. ;)

You know what made CB look great? The blue/gray color scheme... ;p

I demand themes be returned!!! *insert begging and pleading here*

It's Windows only? What the heck was it written in?

Probably someone's free time since Google gives all employees (insists apparently) time to work on their own projects.

Anyone know if Chrome currently has anything like AdBlock Plus from Firefox add-ons?

Stephen September 11 2008 12:21 AM EDT

No adblock, and considering the business that Google are in, I can't see it being a priority!

Stephen September 11 2008 12:24 AM EDT

Oh, and NightStrike, you should archive your gmail inbox!

Flamey September 11 2008 4:41 AM EDT

Open source but windows only? That doesn't sound right to me.

Timberwolf September 11 2008 6:57 AM EDT

Chrome is Google's browser built using the Chromium Open Source Code.
Chromium info can be found here:

They'll get to a Mac version, I am sure, I just wonder what they build it in that isn't more flexible from the get-go...

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] September 11 2008 10:00 AM EDT

just downloaded it. I like so far.

Timberwolf September 11 2008 10:10 AM EDT

The release of Chrome was actually very premature. A press release was accidentally sent out announcing Chrome. They had a working Windows version at the time so they went ahead and released it.
