an odd request (in Off-topic)

i have an ethernet cable that goes up to my roof that used to attach to a wireless internet antennae. i was thinking that since the cable is ran and not being used, it would be cool to have a temperature probe of some sort that i could possibly just plug the other end into my router, go to an ip address and see the outside temperature.

i am sure that someone makes these for monitoring the temperature in server rooms etc. i was just wondering if anyone knew of any inexpensive solutions or had any experience with such equipment.
