XP based version of the MoD (in General)
Do we need one? Do we want one?
I've been thinking about PL. I love it and loathe it. I love the way it allows XP concentration on multi minion teams, I loathe the stacking 10% Damage reduction it gives, that's stacking on top of everything else, that nothing else can replicate, and there's no way to bypass.
Apart from the MoD that is.
But, unlike counter AC (in the VB/ES) which has Decay and SG, there's no XP based foil to the MoDs PL counter.
Maybe it could be rolled into UC, giving it a Dim Mak touch. Or maybe into MM, giving it the ability to blast through such protections (and making it less of the red haired DD step child it currently is).
Or made into a Skill everyone can train.
Unless we're all cool with there only being the one method to deal with PL, and that attached to NW.

I'm in the camp of "PL and AS are overpowered enough, let the MoD have at least a bit of glory against the two most absurdly good skills/spells in the game."
I might be the only one, though.

Also, I don't see why you consider MM to be the "red-haired DD step-child it currently is". There are more minions out there with MM than any other DD (which may not say much), and MM has 3x the experience in it that CoC does (much more telling, methinks). Then again, Decay is the unter-DD in these respects...
I don't know. I don't know how PL looks at high levels (besides the blatant complaining I read on forums all the time), so I can't really comment there. But way down here, the MoD is hardly overpowered. Maybe when I get mine to x4000 +120. When that happens, I'll let you know how it is. ;)
And I don't like the idea of a PL-cutting skill. It seems ridiculously pointless to counter ONE skill- AMF is the closest ability we have to that and it counters every DD.
Like Evaison only counters PTH?
MM pales in comparison to CoC and SG for Damage, and is only used for Ranged because FB is too dangerous to your own team. It's the lowest damaging DD of the 4.
The XP of Decay is moot, as Decay is really only used as base due to design anyway.

I would argue that Evasion counters every weapon in the game. ;) But now we're just dealing with semantics, so I suppose we're both being a little dramatic. =D
I would support adding the effect to MM, although from what I see in the community, it hardly needs it. Yes, MM does low damage, but it's all concentrated, and it's more important to flat-out kill a minion than half-kill two.

"it's more important to flat-out kill a minion than half-kill two." Essentially, PL makes you half-kill minions, rather than fully killing them.
MM is unique in that it fires in ranged with no spread damage nor team self-damage in melee, and hits from the back. All these things make it take a unique place in a strategy, though its damage is very low by comparison. That said, I wouldn't be opposed to making it the mage PL-counter, if one is implemented.
Then again, maybe that's part of what makes tanks viable, now: with a choice of weapon, they can smash AS and ignore PL, whereas mages just have to settle for 6mil damage hits with SG that get sucked onto the PL minion, who then dies.

MM : always targets minion with largest PL (if any) first, dealing DOUBLE DAMAGE against them. Otherwise working as usual >:)
