Challenge bonus display question (in General)

QBJohnnywas September 22 2008 6:55 AM EDT

Why is it that on some fights my challenge bonus displays at 0%, and others it displays at 'none'. Is there a difference between the two? Or just some strange inconsistency with the display method?

PearsonTritonRaveshaw September 22 2008 6:57 AM EDT

I've noticed the same thing. Maybe 0% is just a decimal but it's rounded down (or up in the case of a small negative decimal), while when nothing shows it is exactly that: nothing. As in, zero bonus.

*shrug* just a wild guess though.

QBJohnnywas September 22 2008 7:00 AM EDT

Yeah, I'd thought the same thing. It's the only reason - apart from it being a bug - that I can think for it to be that way.

not sure why, but i usually see the 0 after someone else in my list has given me some kind of bonus. so i get a bonus or two, then the next one without a bonus shows 0 and then all others afterward show no number, until i get back to the bonus people.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] September 22 2008 7:04 AM EDT

well scrap my post, it seems more of a trend with the order of my fight list than what i had though above.

i wonder if it shows for only 6 ba regen folks or all?

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] September 22 2008 7:08 AM EDT

in effect, perhaps the zeroes are true zeroes and the blanks are what would be negatives for 6 pointers?

Flamey September 22 2008 7:56 AM EDT

I think when its zero it means 0-1% but not actually 1%. Rounding down? None would be < 0.

PearsonTritonRaveshaw September 22 2008 8:17 AM EDT

If you can get a negative challenge bonus then it can be less than zero.

when do challenge bonuses start?

Here I am, at 300 MPR, beating 2.5K Score people and not getting challenge Bonus show at all. :(

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] September 22 2008 10:54 AM EDT

seems like 500 mpr stands out as some milestone, just not sure if it is the one you seek. sorry.

Phaete September 22 2008 10:56 AM EDT

It's your VPR, not your MPR.
Looking at your battles you have too much untrained xp making your VPR quite high.

Phaete September 22 2008 11:03 AM EDT

Oh yeah, i think the 'none' only occurs with people who get 6/20, because they cannot get a negative challenge bonus.
So 0% would be rounded indeed.

Can anyone confirm this?

(i have 9/20 and never had 'none' in my challenge bonus)

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 22 2008 11:57 AM EDT

Seems to be about 1,000 MPR I started getting a challenge bonus. ;)

Flamey September 22 2008 5:29 PM EDT

None is only for 6/20 people. Confirmed? :)

Wizard'sFirstRule September 22 2008 5:33 PM EDT

how can anyone other than Jon confirms this? all we can do is contradict it. As in someone not in 6/20 seeing "none" bonus. but then if no one can contradict it, I suppose we can accept it as one of the CB's truth.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] September 22 2008 6:16 PM EDT

"how can anyone other than Jon confirms this? "

while we can't really confirm it, all it takes is one person, not in 6/20, posting that they see it to confirm it is wrong.

Cube September 22 2008 6:20 PM EDT

I've never been in 6/20 and never seen it, and the reasoning makes a lot of sense, so I'm pretty confident that answer is right.
