Strategy advice desired (in General)

I have basically decided upon a strategy, but am certain as to which way to go.

Option One:

Minion One:
Shocking Grasp, Guardian Angel
Spell Boosters, Amulet of Focus / Amulet of Invisibility, Nondorin Spell Casters, Cloak of the Istari, Helm of Clearsight

Minion Two:
Ablative Shield, Dispel Magic
Rune of Solitude, Cornuthaum, Amulet of Focus, Spell Boosters

Option Two:

Minion One:
Guardian Angel, Junction, Dispel Magic
Electric Familiar, Amulet of Focus, Nondorin Spell Casters, Helm of Clear-sight

Minion Two:
Ablative Shield, Dispel Magic
Cornuthaum, Amulet of Focus, Spell Boosters,

I would greatly appreciate help between the two strategies, the main difference I can see is the Rune of Solitude, and the Electric Familiar, is it worth the natural protection against DM, or is the opportunity to junction a familiar with the Electric Familiar, and the extra minion gained?

Please offer, advice, and how much experience should be trained where.

Thank-you

GA is much less useful on a two minion team than it would be on a three four or five (4+Familiar) minion team. DM is also mediocre on teams like this. Boring as it may be I'm going to have to suggest the simple single minion Junction + AS setup. That being said I think your first setup could have similar effect if you removed the DM and GA.

Okay, so what familiar would you recommend? Ice or Electric

Would I train purely AS and junction I suppose?

One more thing, would DB's be better than spell boosters as I would not want to be hit now.

Early on I might suggest Steel familiar... I know it's worked well for me previously. But out of the two you mentioned I'd go with Electric.

I would suggest spellboosters over the dbs, you'll have enough HP getting hit won't matter so much. If you notice later on you're having some trouble, try the dbs.

You can use a base weapon from the store to chose the placement of your familiar. With the weapon equipped the familiar will be in front, without it it'll be in back.

the cake is a lie. GA works perfectly fine for a single minion backed by RoS.

simple logic should indicate that GA is massively more effective each minion you add... str on a mage allowing use of a specialty bow works "fine" but it's still a massive waste 90% of the time

Mikel essentially does single minion GA, granted it's not huge, but it's helping isn't it?

IMO this is only viable due to GA not being changed with the damage formulae.

Mikel has 10m HP...

I look at it this way, if towards the end of the game you've only got a couple people beating you and GA on your single minion char helps... then by all means do so. When raising a char it has always been my stance that every XP you can devote to beating the highest level chars you can is absolutely necessary.
