What to do. (in General)

Soxjr October 18 2008 9:51 AM EDT

Hey all. Most know me and know that my single minion mageseeker has been a lot of fun and has been my only char on this game so far. I am thinking of what to do now that I'm not in debt.

Here are the options.

1. Keep buying full ba everyday and add to my equipment as I slowly make money.

2. Make a NCB and only buy ba during bonus xp time and then I'll be able to lvl my tat a bit faster but still end up a single minion mageseeker probably.

3. Make a NCB and start over kinda.

Now about my gear and stuff. I only have what you see. Only the gear on Sox Jr so I am only equipped to be a mageseeker archer. If you go with number 3 that would be a tough one to do. Also when it comes to number 2 I would really want to be about 3 mil mpr at the end ofthe NCB because that is where my char will be in 6 months anyway so no point in doing it and not getting further than i already would be. Well hope to hear good ideas to help me along. Thanks

4. Give millions upon millions of dollars to your awesome mentor.

=P j/k. But really, why start over if you're only going to get to about the same MPR when you're done? NCB BA costs about 14 billion CB$. Just some food for thought.

As I see it you best two options would either be to a) Start a new NCB and do as mentioned in #2, this would raise your tatoo a lot or b) stick with your current character for awhile until you can buy a lot of NCB BA. Personally I think a is best b/c it is a lot cheaper right now, and I know your not loaded with cash.

I feel so mega lame... When my NCB was up I only had 1.7m MPR! =C

Hehe, you're in almost the same boat I'm in.
I am considering two alternatives myself (besides the obvious "keep going"):

1b. Restart as a single minion (most likely SFBM) then retrain to single archer when I hit enough MPR to beat encumbrance limits on my archer gear

2b. Restart as 4-minion with RoE (undecided what kind of team) until I hit MTL equal to my ToA level, then retrain to single archer and re-equip the ToA.

Granted, you have a huge bow, and better gear overall (123 mil NW vs my puny 27 mil), and even your ToA is slightly larger... so if you go with either options it will take longer before you switch.
Option 1b allows you to probably beat your current MPR, but it will certainly result is a larger tattoo even if you only get about on par... but makes you stuck in the one-minion slot unless you spend a lot of CB$.
Option 2b allows you to have any-sized team (2,3 or 4 minion), with the archer pretty much on par with the current one, while being really cheap (and if you decide you want to get more MPR, just fire and rehire one of them before you ditch the RoE).

I meant "single archer plus (up to) 3 enchanters" for option 2b, of course ;)

4. Buy the 3m mpr char for sale

Soxjr October 18 2008 11:37 AM EDT

but that doesn't help my tat. so i basically get a 3mil mpr char and my tat is even lower in comparison to those at 3 mil mpr.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] October 18 2008 1:06 PM EDT

i have mostly played single minions because i thought the xp concentration would overwhelm the kill slot advantage at some point as well as just liking the idea of one big minion. with the roe changes, the only advantage single minions had is now available to any team.

given that single minions have only disadvantages in the game, i am wondering why you would stick with that team layout? if you just like them, i can fully understand that, but understand that you will be farmed by lower teams quite a bit and the trend in cb2 is to eradicate them it seems.

if you are a glutton for punishment, masochist or love a good underdog, then i wish you luck!

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 18 2008 1:09 PM EDT

Yeah, the tat issue is huge...

So if you were to do the NCB, I'd suggest having a 4 minion team and use the RoE until the moment you can level your tat.

Soxjr October 18 2008 1:31 PM EDT

then what novice.. delete the 3 minions.. and go single? or what?

Conquest October 18 2008 2:20 PM EDT

No, keep the 3 minions as meat shields. I'd run an new NCB just to level your tat as you said. That is my plan after I finish this NCB anyway.

Soxjr October 18 2008 3:40 PM EDT

well. but once the tat starts to level then the other minions start getting xp.

Sickone October 18 2008 3:46 PM EDT

Well, yeah, but considering you have a nearly 3.5 mil tattoo and right now you're well under 5.5 mil MTL, that means you can keep going with a RoE up until 2/3 of the way.
Then you could move the DM and/or other things on the other minions, get Corn/SB for them and such, so not only get additional front killslots, but better effectiveness of raw trained levels with task-specific gear.
Maybe, I don't know, say AoI+BoF on the front minion (for the additional ST and PTH from the BoF), maybe DM on second minion, and HP+TSA+PL on the third "just in case", while the fourth (back) minion wears the ToA and rest of archer gear ?

Lochnivar October 18 2008 4:09 PM EDT

using the 3 extra minions a meat shields until your tat is ready is a good idea.... then just fire em if you want to go single.... no real loss of money that I can see

Soxjr October 18 2008 4:13 PM EDT

I'm just wondering at this point like dudemus if going single is even worth it.. i might go with roe till my tat starts to lvl then keep the others to help out

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] October 18 2008 4:33 PM EDT

I would keep them Sox, but that is just MHO.
