Store idea. (in General)

This is probally a terrible idea but.
What if we had all base items spawn directly to store? Including tats. And everything non base could be sold in the auctions? I think it makes sense, it would kind of take the rarity out of base tats, and Keep the auctions not so cluttered with junk items. idk.

i thought only rare items spawn into auctions so how is it the auctioneers fault for it being cluttered with junk, also they have it that way for a reason, because people could just camp all the rare items.
Camping was part of the game, the problem lies in script-assisted camping.

Yes, it is a terrible idea - what if a corn spawns at base - that would just bring back camp-ing/ers and they'll monopolise the rare item prices.
I think lesser tattoos should be spawning in store, at a much higher rate - since they should be a common item.
As with the full tattoos - as they should be increasing in price. If you think about it, 1M CBD is hardly a large amount anymore, even for a NUB. And they are potentially the core of a teams strategy - no item has the same importance.
I say test it, give it a week, see how it goes, or code it so that a person can only buy 1 Rare Item per/wk...
I thought it was fun to camp, but the whole price gouging thing... I dunno, Maybe Camping costs 160BA per rare item :) that may help as well... although these just may be dumb ideas.

Okay scratch that. I still think all base weapons should spawn in stores, and all base tats. The way jon works the system now is you need a base just to try something new, and that base gets deleted into nothing. Eventually tats are going to be so rare, the 1 million price is just going to get more inflated. Thats ridiculous IMO, dish out more than 1 million just to re-ink and try something new. I say all base weapons should spawn in stores also cause lets face it, there worthless even to nubs. All there worth now is the salvage yard.
I agree though that no rare armor should spawn in stores.

if base weapons were worthless i would be able to get my Blacksword of Nan Elmoth, morgul hammer, BoTh etc in auctions for nothing, but no! everyone wants to outbid my 5k-10k!
I think jon has an acceptable limit for prices, when it goes above that, he will do something. I was initially shocked at 5x the prices of tats at 1m each, but then after some thoughts, it isn't too bad.

I only like the rare item spawns in auctions because it's a bigger money sink. If they spawned in stores prices would skyrocket because less money would be leaving the game?

Sorry for double post, but perhaps a mystery item? Each day you can pay like...1-300k-ish and get a random (non-supporter) item. Price is just a number, more like X.
mystery item = gambling = jon doesn't like it.
What if we could consume lesser tats when changing a regular tat, but not the other way around?
^^^^ is just stupid, how is it a drawback to not be able to use regulars to change a lesser?
lessers=cheaper than the TA used to be and is not a solution, especially to a problem that doesn't exist.
There should be stability in strategy rather than constant rebuilds (helps Jon balance the game which is why he prefers when people stick with what they have) and a higher price for tattoos is just demand for what was a similar supply.
They shouldn't cost more than a maximum of 2-3mill to experiment as you should only be trying a couple of tattoos different to your courrent one. Every strat has (in my opinion) a maximum of 3 or 4 suitable tattoo choices and therefore does not require constant switches.
Finally, those who should be using the TA are the ones with massive tattoos who already have millions set aside doing nothing, small to medium-sized tattoo users should look more at just getting a slightly smaller-sized one of their target tattoo (most of us have reasonable test cases sitting on our farms already and saves losing any tattoos by just sacrificing a few levels). If worst comes to worst you can always loan or buy one similar to your size and with the buy option you can sell it on if unsuccessful.
If rares spawn into the stores, then a select few people will eventually have complete control over the market, therefore eliminating the fair auction system. Those few people that camp will have a monopoly and charge people insane amounts of money to get base items, while they make a pure profit. Sorry, I just don't like this idea. We have a great system right now, and let's not "fix" something that isn't broken.
camping is impossible to monopolize without script-assistance, add to the mix that CB generally has item prices set by buyers and not sellers.

I want some sort of chance at getting decent items at a low price... /me misses the old days.

I always thought the BA cost for entering the store was a fairly good idea, and now that there's no ammo, there's no reason NOT to do this.
Or you could just make it so it costs BA to purchase a rare item.

you can always pop into the store sometimes people sell semi rares jsut cause, i pop in all the time out of boredom and scored 2 elven stilettos and an exec sword lolz
here is the original thread where jon changed rares into auction spawns rather than store spawns. reading it will give you an idea of the battle you are up against on this one.
you can always camp katana and exec sword
November 17 2008 5:53 PM EST
exec and katanas are spawned into auctions aswell i believe
November 17 2008 5:55 PM EST
They sure do.
its not camping if there are tones of base tattoos available. making base tattoos available anytime any number so long you can afford it. would be the best way to detur the current inflation of base price tattoos
