idea for a contest (in Off-topic)

i really enjoy the daily trivia quiz:

i am trying to come up with some contest we could run for it though. i do have an extra character slot that i could set up for prize money, so how would this best be implemented?

i was thinking of having people send some amount (25k to 100k) to a character for prizes, and then on the last day of the month dividing the money between the top 3 cumulative monthly scoreholders who paid the entry fee above. it could be divided up as such:

3/6 to the highest entrant
2/6 to the next highest entrant
1/6 to the next highest entrant

i am asking for feedback as well as interest. i would really like to participate as well and i think it would still be fair since there is really no way i see of manipulating the system but would like to know if anyone thinks this would be a problem or if anyone has other ideas.

i would also likely post daily stats in a contest thread to update placement as well as keep interest piqued.

i would also likely add a cut-off date of say the tenth, and state that any money sent after that date would be considered as a donation to the prize pool rather than an entry fee.

Yeah the trivia is fun to play. If you can get it off the ground. I'm in.

well i typed up these rules just to be ready tomorrow to try it if i decide to. is 100k too high a fee?

2. Send 100k entry fee to my character "triviapot" by the 20th of the month. (if you send money after that date, then it will be considered as a donation, these are always welcome)
3. Post the transfer log from the above transfer in this thread and include your user id from the daily quiz site if different from your user id here.


On the last day of the calendar month, between 6 and midnight central time, I will post the monthly cumulative standings from the above web site. The payouts are as follows:

1. The highest ranking entrant will win 3/6 of the pot.
2. The next highest entrant will win 2/6 of the pot.
3. The next highest entrant will win 1/6 of the pot.


By entrant, I mean anyone who has paid the entry fee for that month's contest. In other words if you place first in the monthly cumulative score but failed to pay your entry fee by the cut-off date, then we enjoyed playing with you, but you are not eligible for any prize.
