FailBoat[SG] [Forever Alone] December 16 2008 12:56 PM EST

SimplyNic December 16 2008 12:58 PM EST

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] December 16 2008 1:09 PM EST

Level 80 DK. ;)

Frost and waiting for 3.0.8 ;)

Planning to use an IT-BS-Ob-Ob-FS-FS rotation (with Glyph of Obliterate, Blood Strike and Frost Strike).

32 RP Frost Strikes are going to be <3!

tasuki [UFC] December 16 2008 1:14 PM EST

I'm @ moon guard. Been playing a little over 4 months.

80 BM hybrid Hunter and 80 enh shaman.

FailBoat[SG] [Forever Alone] December 16 2008 1:23 PM EST

Honestly, until I see a significant change in the way the DK Tanking works, I'll be annoyed with my Frost DK. 2H tanking forces you to take alot more damage than you should have to compared to DW'ing and it bothers me.

I see no reason why they can't do as they said they would during Beta and fix the DK Frost tree to be a proper dual wielding tank spec.

PearsonTritonRaveshaw December 16 2008 1:54 PM EST

Paladins are uber. They can have their block chance completely capped and still dish out 450+ DPS.

Rawr December 16 2008 2:56 PM EST

I do! (did)

Rave, 450 dps is low at 70.

I will continue playing once break starts and finals are over. I haven't played silence WoTLK released. I'm excited :).

I play on Gorgonnash, 70 hunter, druid, and warrior, + bunches of alts.

Druid can get to 900+ dps self buffed.
Hunter can EASILY break 1000.
Warrior is still kinda nooby :)

FailBoat[SG] [Forever Alone] December 16 2008 3:21 PM EST

Rawr, a prot pally at 70 doing 450-ish DPS was pretty good.

At 80, doing 900-ish is average.

Rawr December 16 2008 3:56 PM EST

oh prot pally. lol.

I read pally -> 450.

Is leveling to 80 even harder than 60-70?

tasuki [UFC] December 16 2008 4:27 PM EST

Getting to 80 seems easier than from 60 to 70 for me.

Northrend quests seem to be more closely packed (completing 2 or 3 quest at a time). Objective of the quest are closer to the quest giver. Quest that required drops seems fewer and when items are required, their drop rates seem better.

It also helps that more people are also leveling at the same time. Making it easier to knock off the group quests and those usually have pretty decent rewards. Also, some of the group quest could be soloed depending on your class.

From 74-77 was a bit slow for me but once I could use epic flying mount, it was a breeze from 77-80.

Rawr December 16 2008 4:43 PM EST

Awesome! I'm even more excited! thanks!

"Honestly, until I see a significant change in the way the DK Tanking works, I'll be annoyed with my Frost DK. 2H tanking forces you to take alot more damage than you should have to compared to DW'ing and it bothers me."

o_O

You talking about the lack of Tanking stats on 2H Weapons, which is intentional.

In an effort to combat that, there's the new 2H Tanking Runeforge and the New IT based Def Sigil.

Otherwise, with the rightful adjustment of Bone Shield, Frost improves in mitigation over the other two specs. With Blood gaining mitigation through a 30 second Vampric Blood chained back to back with IBF and possible Lichbourne.

The duration increase of IBF thorugh GoG is noticable. Even if the armour change to UA isn't.

"I see no reason why they can't do as they said they would during Beta and fix the DK Frost tree to be a proper dual wielding tank spec."

Because you *can't* Tank with DW.

For two reasons;

1: You'll make the Boss parry more often, which increases his swing timer in response, and leads to an increase of incoming damage and the often refered to Parry-Gib. While capping Expertise can help with this, see below.

2: Hit rating. With 2H you have an 8% target for Hit. When you achieve that, your Melee attacks are hit capped. And with Raid buffs (And Virulence), your Spell Hit is capped as well. And for Tanking Spell Hit only really effects IT and Death Coil.

With DW you gain the increased penalty to hit from DWing, which you cannot make up on Tanking gear, without sacrificing much more important Mitigation stats or Expertise.

Also, when you DW, as your Strikes will be a lot less powerful than your spells, you'll be relying on IT, DC and DND (maybe Pestilence here depending on ow it changes with the cooldown removal). None of which are staple single target Threat abilities.

Goodfish December 16 2008 10:36 PM EST

I don't understand what any of that means.

/goes back to playing his Orc Hunter.

Daz December 16 2008 11:09 PM EST

I've been playing on and off for a bit over a year. Off atm. My main is a level 62 Undead Rogue on Jubei Thos. Outlands are so boring.

I've been wanting to play, but the economy is making it difficult at the moment. Maybe I should ask my friends for time cards for Christmas XD

Goodfish December 16 2008 11:13 PM EST

Start up a CB guild and I'm in.

alaskanpsyko December 23 2008 11:34 PM EST

Uh. id like to try out WOW but my net isn't as reliable as required for game-play, so would it be a waste to get it mainly for 1player gaming???

Daz December 23 2008 11:36 PM EST

Absolutely!

You can solo stuff (As I have done with a LOT of the game), but the entire thing IS online.

alaskanpsyko December 24 2008 12:19 AM EST

yeah cool, but i was wondering how going solo would feel it being a MMO and all. alright thanks..been really thinking of wow...either that or unreal04...

Rawr December 24 2008 12:23 AM EST

No you really want a pretty decent computer to run it well, if you plan on playing seriously. A poor computer won't do very well once you get into higher levels, because of the higher numbers of players. You don't have to play with them to feel the lag.

Daz December 24 2008 12:25 AM EST

Yeah. I had an OKAY computer, but when I got the BC areas, it had numerous heart attacks.

Flamey December 24 2008 12:35 AM EST

devourer of life.

Goodfish December 24 2008 12:39 AM EST

It really is. Every time I pick up WoW (which has been twice now), I find myself concerned about not getting my "money's worth".

So I've moved back to so-called "regular games". Trust me, keeping your life is worth it. ;)

Of course, some people can in fact play it casually, but these people have more money than I do. Every dollar that leaves my pocket is scrutinized so harshly that the fifteen bucks a month I spend on WoW had better be worth it, since I don't have a lot of money to toss around.
