I'm still happy with XP Pro.

Soul Eater January 8 2009 10:21 PM EST

Me 2 I'm sticking with XP it's the best and most Stable OS Microsoft has released to date IMO.

QBsutekh137 January 8 2009 10:24 PM EST

Funny, I'm burning the beta to DVD right now! MSDN download (legit), going to try it on a Virtual-box install here in a bit... FUN!

GM January 8 2009 10:33 PM EST

You can use WinRAR instead of a DVD if you'd like.

Besides Vista, you mean? :P

I've only managed to crash Vista once in 2 years, which is Very, very impressive given the way I use computers *"Hey, I wonder if THIS will work!").

QBsutekh137 January 8 2009 10:53 PM EST

Ganja, this is legit, that's why I don't need RAR. Haven't we been over this? *grin* I work in IT, and have an MSDN membership for this kind of thing...

Soul Eater January 8 2009 10:54 PM EST

I hate Vista, alot of the programs and games I have simply will not run on Vista so I downgraded back to XP. Also Vista is a severe resource hog.

GM January 8 2009 11:09 PM EST

WinRAR is legit, it'll just save you a disc. You can un-rar the .iso so you'll save time and a disc. What's wrong with that? Btw RAR and iso should be added to the CB spellcheck/dictionary.

QBsutekh137 January 8 2009 11:32 PM EST

Ah, I see...sorry. I can't do it as easily that way, since I am virtualizing on a Mac. So, just as easy to make a DVD in my case.

Worked OK, I am in Win7 right now, IE8. Working OK. Not sure how much of Virtualbox works, but I have sound, variable resolution, and shared mousing/clipboard working. Nice! Too bad Sun is going down the tubes... :\

[RX3]Cotillion January 9 2009 5:31 PM EST

So did anyone download it yet? If so, where on the official microsoft site can I download it from?

So did Microsoft create this OS because they finally realized that Vista was not even salvageable?

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] January 9 2009 10:19 PM EST

They will no longer even update Vista, that is the reason they are coming out with 7 is because they could not handle Vista, it was too far gone.

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] January 9 2009 10:24 PM EST

So what will happen when beta is over? They will just crash all computers with beta on them? You can't just cancel a OS, you need to format your hard drive, do you not? rofl. You will either need to buy a serial, or downgrade back to XP, or, pfft, Vista?

win98 for the win!!

Hope everything is well.

God Bless you!
