Newlin [SeeD] January 11 2009 11:28 PM EST

I found this the other day when I was surfing the web. http://darwinawards.com/darwin/darwin2008.html

The site has been a favorite of tech supporters for as long as I can remember. There's even a movie that is loosely based on it

Oooo thats a double! because he appears to be welding the gas tank too!

ResistanZ2 [The Knighthood] January 12 2009 2:07 AM EST

I'm not sure I understand how people can think it's funny that other people die.

because warming yourself in front of a microwave antenna to death isn't sad...

ResistanZ2 [The Knighthood] January 12 2009 2:56 AM EST

I dunno, I find it funny when people hurt themselves, but it's hard to laugh at a person who dies, even if it is completely their own fault.

Flatcap [East Milwaukee Devival] January 12 2009 2:58 AM EST

Because people removing themselves from the gene pool with easily avoidable death is always funny. The classic Darwin checking the fuel tank you are filling with water to remove vapor with a lighter is self explanitory

I would much rather laugh about it than get all upset and depressed about it. People die every day and it makes my life easier treating it with humor than treating it so downright seriously. Yeah, dying sucks, but what are you going to do about it? Plus, it's not like you'll mind much when you're dead anyways.

think of it as a battle of attrition for the limited resources that our planet has to offer. ; )

DoktorZero January 12 2009 5:09 PM EST

kill them all
let god sort them out
laugh at what amuses you :)

A Lesser AR of 15 [Red Permanent Assurance] January 12 2009 7:19 PM EST

Saw the movie for the first time not an hour ago. Not worth renting in my opinion.
