Hmm (in New players)

Okay, so i have been playing on and off for a long time and really can't remember anything that i was trying to do, i have made characters over and over trying to get into the groove, read strategy after strategy and this time went all the way with my mage (Durago) renting all the things it said that you had to have, and even a mage shield which i realize now that if i put it on its useless to me (waste of money :( and i was wondering if someone could take a look at him and help me out and tell me what i was doing wrong or give me some pointers. i know it says to get a Tattoo of enlightenment or whatever (the xp one?) and i think that's the only thing i'm missing from the strats, still working on that (cant rent tattoos apparently, lol)

Ugh, i was wondering what happened to the item i got for supportership and figured out how to look at my profile or whatever and saw i traded it for currency in kingdom of loathing (horrible, HORRIBLE idea)

K first off...you should invest in a regular tattoo. Don't get a rune of enlightment. if you want to do a mage familiar then pick one a good one is a STeel familiar. Don't get a lesser because they level slower. Your item setup isn't bad but if you do a familiar train junction so that the item effects are transferred to your familiar

The Tattoo of Enlightenment was once a great tattoo to start out with. Personally, I don't find it to be so anymore. Don't bother. Check out this thread for excellent advice from a true veteran of the game. :) And if you have any questions, feel free to ask in Chat!

i haven't been able to get a normal steel familiar yet but i did train junction and i am already seeing the familiar's damage spike. thanks for the help guys. of all the stuff i have rented, what should i work on actually owning first?
