Need help with tattoos (in New players)

I have a lesser Ice Familiar that I am trying to convert to a Steel Familiar and I'm not sure why I can't choose the option in the artist

I had the same problem when I first started out. You have to buy a tatoo first then go to the tatoo artist. You select the tatoo you have in the first box, and then the one you bought (the one you want it to be) in the second (consume) box... and vuala. Changed. So, you have to actually have 2 tatoos to change.

I am NOT sure though if you have a lesser in the first box, and a regular in the second, if it will still remain a lesser? hmmm might have to have a regular (non-lesser) tat in the first so you don't waste $

after I place either of my tats in the first box I still can't put either of my tats in the second box :( the second box is simply empty

Lesser tats can only be changed into other lessers.

If you want a regular tattoo to be changed, you must use another regular tattoo to change it.

Changing from lesser tattoo to regular tattoo is not possible via Tattoo Artist.
