UnRetire? (in General)

AdminTal Destra February 19 2009 8:50 PM EST

If everyone keeps asking to unretire a character why not do away with the whole 4-9 day unretire period? Just make it where they can be unretired at will and i bet it will save a lot of hassle for admins

drain ba, retire, unretire and drain ba, repeat.

Wouldn't this be fixed by a simple script that drains BA to zero upon bringing the toon back from retirement? With a nice warning to go with it. :)

I prefer the current system.

If people annoy the admins too much with requests to unretire, they can always solve that problem by refusing. :P

or, just makee it possible to unretire after X amount of days, that way if someone retires a character a long time ago they can just bring it back for the fee, of course this won't relieve the admins of their short order unretires but it'll definitely remove most of them. of course i haven't slept in over 48 hours and i'm going to go pass out now so this might not have made sense to anyone. i'll probably enjoy reading it tomorrow

The real solution is to just have a link that automatically charges you 50k for unretiring outside the 4-9 day window.

The window is there to prevent retirement abuse (for instance, to get around item storage limits, or to avoid being farmed, or any other number of things.)

I think that is a great idea NightStrike. It would save you admin's alot of work in the long run.

but if that link doesn't have some sort of cooldown you can still use it to abuse it.

QBOddBird February 25 2009 6:17 PM EST

Paying 50k to retire/unretire and save a mil on buying BA at a non-NCB cost is well worth it. That would not be a solution; it would be a convenient means of abuse.

draining BA + empty item seems like a good way to reduce the abuse.

Your newly unretired guy will have no BA and no item, good luck. :P
or a "unretire now" option every 30 days. (so can't really abuse it.)
