Super Hakai! (err, Haiku) (in Contests)

TheHatchetman March 20 2009 11:38 AM EDT

5-7-5 just isn't doing it anymore, so I present to you the Super Haiku 5-7-9-11-9-7-5! :o

Hatchy's gone insane
The need for Haiku rolls in
In an attempt to try something new
Super Haiku was the next logical step
Summer, Winter, Spring, and the other,
Fill my quota for seasons,
And now it's your turn!

250k to the best entry! No particular themes or requirements (the 5-7-9-11-9-7-5 thing is hard enough), winner will be picked by me! :D

indeed hatch is nuts
why am i writing, this sucks
no need to try something new
why even bother with this hybrid haiku
all the seasons spent with your mother
quota for seasons unread
theres something, i tried

blackshadowshade March 20 2009 11:49 AM EDT

deifelns did abound
but it seems as time rolls on
the deifelns did slowly disappear
yet a triplet doth remain in existence
each longing for a large cash influx
their patience will be tested
how long will they wait?

blackshadowshade March 20 2009 11:51 AM EDT

oops, the third line should naturally be:

"the deifelns do slowly disappear"

Lochnivar March 20 2009 12:13 PM EDT

A rhyming couplet?
Iambic pentameter?
The poetry of artistic form..
Add a syllable, or perchance twenty-nine...
Is depth gained worth simplicity lost?
Extrapolate principle?
Violate the past?

Hatch you have serious issues... and it appears so do I

Perchance, indeed. ;)

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 20 2009 2:31 PM EDT

thirty years long gone
each one shorter than the last
someday I will watch as they pass by
a magnificent blur of things seen before
waxing and waning like day and night
malignantly repetitive masterpiece
cruelly short and long

Hatchey's gone insane
The need for Haiku rolls in
In an attempt to try something new
Super Haiku was the next logical step
He suggested five-seven-nine-eleven-nine-seven-five
This format would definitely provide some awkward sentence
I would, however, take this challenge further then that
By adding three lines, thirteen-fifteen-thirteen
So, now that I finished my counting
My Haiku is nearly done
Salute, to Hatchy

CB is long gone
forgotten by those most new
but that does not stop me from playing
for the people are brilliant and kind to me
in this wonderful game for most ages
I hope it lives on for us
so we remember

TheHatchetman March 21 2009 7:13 PM EDT

This is it?! :o

If anyone thinks they can beat something here, please post it! If you've already posted, but think you can do better, do so! If you've noticed, my contest almost always have additional prizes that aren't stated anywhere until they are awarded (I do this so that if the turnout sucks, I'm not obliged to pay extra for bad results) so even if you're sure you've got this one in the bag, or you think you can't do better than someone else, go for it anyway, and you just may receive a nice little chunk of change!

In days long ago
when Novice was still a newb
Jonathan made this wonderful world
and with the help of many daring admins
we have what is here today for us
with no money required
we play till time stops

And so life goes on.
CB awaits some changes,
the sun sets, and the moon vanishes.
Everything appears to be normal today.
However, many changed are brewed
in the mind of Jonathan.
And so life goes on.

March Madness is here
and brackets are set in stone
who will survive and who will go home
dare a cinderella unfold a story?
More likely that the one seeds will roll
Detroit here we come!

Billy Packer please don't cry

250k to nov for first place, 100k to Loch for second, PainKiller gets a 50k prize for providing an entertaining read, even though he was not elligible for a placed prize due to not following format. Though, i guess the way it's setup here, you could just call it third... :P

I'll try to make future contests a little easier to participate in ^_^

Wizard'sFirstRule March 22 2009 9:20 PM EDT

woot. thanks hatchy.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 22 2009 9:56 PM EDT
