Looking for a game... (in Off-topic)

I need some suggestions for a PC game. Here is some of the things I'm looking for:

- Space simulator style
- command a single ship or small fleet
- doesn't have to be recent game
- Games I've played and liked: Freelancer, X3

Any suggestions would be great.

Freelancer :P
Other than that, try Sins of a Solar Empire. not really sim-style, but its the most recent game with a real space theme afaik.
Its an RTS, but almost similar to Civ.

Space Colony? :p

There's X3: Terran Conflict. Follows after X3. I think you're a different character, but I'm not sure.

I really enjoyed Darkstar One, but it's not the most involved Space sim. It focuses more on the combat, and the trade/other is more tacked on (IMO). I wrote a review on GOG.com, where it's pretty cheap. It's also on Steam, which is where I bought it (before GOG existed!).

I really should actually play my copy of X3:Reunion sometime... I love the concept, but the game is just too complicated to bother learning to play properly XD

Sins of a Solar Empire is a really fun game, but it gets boring pretty quickly, there isn't a whole lot to do in the game, unfortunately.

I played SoaSE and didn't like it much, but that's because it didn't have a campaign and I don't like multiplayer that much.
I have Homeworld 2 sitting here waiting to get played as well~

Sins is cool but it helps to have a friend you can play with, definitely. Great buy for 30 bucks, if you ask me.

Hmm. Do you want something like Master of Orion? If so, I think Master of Orion and Ascendancy are pretty good. :)

Oh, and GalCiv II. ;)

I have to strongly second Ascendancy. It made me discover the genre, and is a great space exploration game. Plus, it looks real classy, even today.

I absolutely hated X3:TC. I played and liked the original, but the sequel just... sucks. I detest the new control scheme.

Eve Online?

Star Wolves, had fun with it some time ago. Has some RPG elements, the sequel has been lauched recently i think
