2 Feature Requests. (in General)

[P]Mitt April 15 2009 11:14 PM EDT

Firstly, I would like to reopen my request for a "Cancel pending CM" function.

If the recipient of a CM has not received a CM yet and situations change, I would like a feature to "Cancel pending CM" This would be especially useful when selling items and updating bids. (for example)

Secondly, I would like a feature analogous to Chat's /ignore function that would allow users to /ignore a player on the forums.

Either could be a supporter function; they do not affect gameplay.

I votes the known issue page gets looked at before this.

"Firstly, I would like to reopen my request for a "Cancel pending CM" function."

Seconded.

"Secondly, I would like a feature analogous to Chat's /ignore function that would allow users to /ignore a player on the forums."

No. It would be far too hard to carry on a coherent and linear discussion that way.

QBOddBird April 16 2009 12:07 AM EDT

I agree with both of these requests.

It might be difficult to follow the discussion, but if it helps to prevent the rampant flamewars that are constantly overtaking CB, I'm all for it. I'm tired of it.

i would rather just have a religion, politics and pointless debate forum. that way we can choose to not have it show as supporters!

BadFish April 16 2009 2:13 AM EDT

I would be down like a clown for EITHER the /ignore feature on forums or a pointless debate forum. I too am fed up with the bickering and its impossible to even discern any actual discussion from the constant flaming and everyone and their brother throwing their 2 cents in.

I support the unsend feature for CMs, but not the ability to ignore posts in threads. I just don't see how the latter is helpful to the community as a whole: If there's a problem, let's not ignore it but fix it.

Cube April 16 2009 12:35 PM EDT

Canceling a CM is not urgent, but it'd be nice.

Ignoring posts just gets confusing...

BootyGod April 16 2009 2:03 PM EDT

I agree with the first idea, totally.

But the second one... I don't know. If nothing else, conversations where half the people are ignoring the other half aren't going to be interesting. And they're definitely going to be annoyingly confusing.

If you can't handle someone annoying you a bit.... Well.... Grow up.

Lord Bob April 16 2009 2:05 PM EDT

"If you can't handle someone annoying you a bit.... Well.... Grow up."

Agreed. A few people getting offended isn't as bad as mass confusion because some people chose not to read the entire discussion.

QBOddBird April 16 2009 2:15 PM EDT

Hm, after reading dudemus' suggestion it is a lot better solution than the second one, as those are the threads I generally want to ignore in the first place.

Marlfox [Cult of the Valaraukar] April 16 2009 2:30 PM EDT

First one is great, but if the second was implemented, I wouldn't be able to make a FS/WTB thread for the life of me. ;)

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] April 16 2009 2:31 PM EDT

yeppers, it would also solve the confusion issue. thank you for your support!

Lord Bob April 16 2009 2:40 PM EDT

I also like Dude's suggestion.
