Kindle 2: worth the purchase? (in Off-topic)

I've been hearing both good and bad about it, so CB community is it worth the money to invest in one?? I am an avid reader and already own most of Dean Koontz and Stephen King books...

Would this be something useful?

we bought one last year but didn't get it until january. we are loving it. we have a full library of classics that were totally free. so far we have only bought two books, but with all of the free stuff we probably have a years worth of reading.

the free stuff consists of older works in the public domain and special offers from modern writers. it is great to have all that reading at your fingertips.

we originally decided to get one after losing our house a few years ago to flooding from our creek. since that time i have taken all my music digital (we lost some cd's in the flood), i have scanned slides and photos that we didn't lose and we decided to go digital with books as well. it is frustrating to buy books that you have already bought once in life.

the only problem we have with the kindle is that there are 3 of us sharing it! because of that we are definitely getting our money's worth out of it though!

can you switch books in the middle and go back without losing your spot? kat and i would be sharing

you can do multiple bookmarks and jump to them. we have found it is easier to just read separate books each, it will then go to the spot you left off last.
